Pink Tutu Rome #533: Ciao Bella! It's Tutu Time in the Eternal City!

Hey lovelies! It's your favourite Derbyshire girl Emma, back with another fab adventure from the heart of Italy! This week, I've been twirling and twirling my way through Rome, and it's a truly magical place. Imagine cobbled streets leading to ancient ruins, stunning churches, and hidden trattorias serving the most delicious pasta you've ever tasted - it's a dream come true!

A Dreamy Train Journey

First off, I've got to rave about my train journey here! The high-speed Eurostar is like travelling in style! The seats are comfy, there's loads of legroom, and the views from the train window were truly spectacular. I mean, who wouldn't want to whizz through the countryside, past rolling hills and vineyards, all in the name of fashion and ballet?

Fashion Forward in the Eternal City

When I arrived in Rome, the city seemed to explode with style! Fashion is a big deal here - think chic, breezy dresses, gorgeous scarves, and an abundance of leather goods. You just can't resist a bit of browsing in the charming boutiques, even if you don't end up buying anything (okay, who am I kidding? I bought a stunning silk scarf and a pair of delicate leather sandals, perfect for a ballet class on cobblestones!)

A Touch of Pink, Naturally!

Speaking of fashion, how could I resist incorporating a little pink into my wardrobe, even in the midst of Italy's fabulous fashion scene? I found the cutest vintage shop tucked away in a side street, where I discovered a stunning rose-pink silk tutu skirt! Now, who else could wear a pink tutu in a foreign country, but yours truly, right? It definitely adds a touch of whimsy to any outfit. Imagine strolling around the Colosseum, gazing up at its mighty arches while sporting a pink tutu - the perfect picture! (Although maybe a touch too daring for some!)

Twirling to Perfection: Ballet Class on a Roman Piazza

Let's face it, ballet and travel are a match made in heaven. This week, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a charming little dance studio, tucked away in the heart of the city. It's tucked away in an ancient palazzo, right beside a pretty little piazza - talk about a scenic dance studio! Imagine leaping and twirling amongst the ruins, with the aroma of fresh pasta wafting from nearby restaurants, oh, it was bliss.

Teatro dell’Opera: Where Beauty Meets Grace

And speaking of beauty and grace, I absolutely couldn't miss a visit to the iconic Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The grandeur of the architecture just blows you away, and it truly embodies the spirit of Roman opulence. I saw a stunning production of La Traviata, and let me tell you, the performance was pure magic! The voices, the costumes, the choreography – it was truly breathtaking! I've never felt so inspired by dance, and it's given me even more motivation to push myself to my full potential.

A Foodie Paradise!

Of course, a trip to Rome isn't complete without savouring the incredible food. The pasta is truly legendary, the pizza is the perfect marriage of crispy dough and mouthwatering toppings, and the gelato is literally to die for. I'm on a mission to try as many flavours as I can before I head home.

The Sweet Smell of Gelato and the Spirit of Adventure

The gelato here is incredible - the flavours are out of this world! And the aroma of fresh gelato filling the air is almost as delicious as the gelato itself. And the aroma of delicious pastries and coffee in the morning, I just have to get another of those pain au chocolat in my bag!

Adventures on Two Wheels

Rome is a city begging to be explored, so what better way to discover its hidden treasures than on a classic Italian Vespa? I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon cruising around the city, taking in the stunning sights. Just imagine zipping through charming cobbled streets, feeling the wind in your hair - truly a fabulous experience!

Taking a Plunge into Roman History

Today I took a trip back in time to explore the Forum and Palatine Hill, immersing myself in the history of the Roman Empire. To be honest, standing on these ancient ruins, and imagining what life must have been like in this great civilization was just magical.

Rome's Unforgettable Magic

Rome, you are a city that truly lives up to its reputation as the "Eternal City." Every turn, every twist, every hidden alley, offers something truly unique and extraordinary. It's a city that steals your heart and captivates your soul, leaving you with a yearning to return and discover even more.

A Tutu Tip For Rome

One word of advice: Be sure to wear comfy shoes, my lovelies, because the city is full of cobblestones. (Don’t worry, I wore a little ballerina slipper, that made a perfect pair with my rose-pink silk tutu!)

Until next time, be bold, be bright, and most importantly, be your amazing selves! Ciao for now, and keep those pink tutus twirling!

Much love,

Emma
