#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella, It's Wednesday, and It's Pink Tutu Time! (Post #589)

Hello darling fashionistas! It's me, Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad, ballet-loving blogger, back with another travel adventure, this time from the glorious city of Rome!

As you know, every Wednesday, I'm here to whisk you away with me on my latest escapade, and this week, the magic of Rome is seeping into my very being.

Now, I know you're probably wondering, how did you get to Rome, Emma?* Well, darling, you see, this trip was all thanks to my fabulous ballet performances. It seems those twirls and leaps don't just bring joy to the audience - they also fund my globetrotting! (The best part of this job is seeing the world! And shopping... and meeting gorgeous Italians, of course!)

And I must tell you, Rome was a DREAM. Picture this: cobblestone streets, golden sunlight, delicious gelato, and ancient ruins all nestled around stunning, grand architecture. Everything seemed bathed in a soft, romantic light, a perfect setting for a pink tutu, if I do say so myself!

A day in the life of a Pink Tutu princess:

So, I know you're eager to hear about my Rome adventures! Here’s a glimpse into the fun I had in this magical city. It all began with an incredible train journey, the rhythmic clicking of the wheels like a perfect waltz to the rhythm of my beating heart. Honestly, I find train journeys incredibly inspiring. You can relax, enjoy the changing landscape, and most importantly, read a good book!

And speaking of reading, I'm a total bookworm, so naturally, I had a fab book to devour. Let me tell you, there's nothing more delightful than sinking into a captivating story on a train journey, the rhythmic swaying of the carriages and the panoramic scenery enhancing the entire experience.

My Top Roman Highlights (and Shopping Tips!):

Day One: Trevi Fountain was an absolute stunner, but then, let's be honest, all of Rome is a stunner! You could practically feel the history radiating from those ancient stones. And can I just say? That's where I debuted my gorgeous new tulle skirt!

Of course, I couldn't resist throwing a coin in for good luck (as is tradition) to ensure my next Roman escapade! Did I mention the stunning Baroque-style architecture surrounding the fountain? Just stunning.

And darling, let's talk about Shopping in Rome! This was practically the highlight of my trip! I wandered down endless cobblestone streets filled with boutiques boasting leather handbags, shimmering jewellery, and exquisitely crafted Italian shoes. Oh my! I fell head over heels for this beautiful coral-hued handbag, adorned with delicate embellishments, and knew it would perfectly compliment my pink tutu collection.

Day Two: A breathtakingly beautiful day, filled with ancient Roman history and culture. First, I visited the Colosseum – what an absolutely breathtaking sight. To stand where emperors and gladiators once walked felt like stepping into another era! Honestly, I felt like a ballerina performing on a colossal stage, but of course, in a pink tutu, wouldn’t you?

Of course, no visit to Rome is complete without a visit to The Vatican. I am not religious (in the traditional sense), but there's something undeniably special about the Vatican’s grandeur. I was in awe of the architecture and artwork. My favourite? Definitely Michelangelo's Pieta.

And you know, the pieta even sparked some ballet inspiration for me, so I'm definitely planning to incorporate the emotion and intensity of the artwork into my next choreography!

Speaking of art, let's not forget about the exquisite fashion of Rome! The Italians, bless their souls, have an undeniable je ne sais quoi when it comes to style. From chic leather jackets to glamorous dresses and fabulous hats, Rome was a feast for my fashion-loving eyes.

Day Three: Of course, we have to discuss the food. Delicious, delightful, decadent food, and so much of it! (And for a ballerina like me, food is incredibly important!) The delicious pizza – a perfect crust, gooey cheese, and a tangy sauce was simply heaven. The creamy pasta, the sweet gelato (a must-have!), the perfectly baked tiramisu! The Italians clearly know their culinary game!

And to top it all off… I did a little Ballet Shopping too! A fabulous vintage boutique with shimmering costumes, soft tutus, and intricate footwear awaited me! I just had to pick up a brand new rose pink tutu. Honestly, it was love at first sight!

Oh darling, my trip to Rome has left my soul dancing. This incredible city's beauty and charm have filled me with endless inspiration. I can’t wait to translate the sights, sounds, and feeling of this magnificent city into my next performance!

And my dear fashionistas, I urge you all to explore Rome! But, when you do, don't forget to slip on your favourite pink tutu!

I'll leave you with this: What is more fabulous than a ballerina in a pink tutu twirling on the cobblestone streets of Rome? Answer: NOTHING.

Until next Wednesday, darling, when we embark on a new travel adventure, stay stylish, embrace your inner ballerina, and never be afraid to wear a pink tutu!

Ciao Bella!

Yours in Pink Tulle, Emma
