Pink Tutu Rome #599 - A Ballerina’s Dream! 🩰🇮🇹

Ciao Bella! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my Pink Tutu Rome blog! This week, I'm buzzing about being in the Eternal City, exploring the history, soaking up the sunshine, and finding some absolute treasures in the shops.

It feels incredible to be in a city where you can be swept up in the romantic aura of Ancient Roman history! Today, I had a real Roman Holiday moment: walking across the cobbles towards the Colosseum, all eyes on me, twirling my Pink Tutu in my trademark style. The locals seemed delighted with my arrival, offering enthusiastic nods and "Bellissimo" remarks! I must say, my pink tulle was feeling pretty fabulous under the Roman sky.

Before exploring the grand Colosseum, I popped into a chic little cafe for a cappuccino and a delicate pain au chocolat. Then, off I went to find some Roman inspiration to add to my wardrobe, and let me tell you, the shops here are positively overflowing with delightful Italian fabrics and fashion! It’s simply delightful to immerse oneself in the colours, textures and fabrics – it’s almost as good as a trip to a fancy haberdashery in London’s West End. I've already snagged a silk scarf printed with Roman gladiators, a vintage velvet dress with elegant embroidery, and a gorgeous handmade leather bag. I'm just a wee bit excited to bring it all back to Derbyshire and pair my finds with my signature Pink Tutu - it’ll be a fabulous mix of Italian charm and girly glam!

Speaking of Pink Tutu events, I’m heading to see a ballet performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on Friday – Swan Lake – it'll be spectacular. Rome is brimming with so much beauty, from grand Baroque buildings to ornate squares, and the grandeur of the Opera House fits right in. I can't wait to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the sheer artistry of this classical masterpiece.

Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a visit to the Vatican City. I’ll be stepping into St Peter’s Basilica on Thursday to feel a true sense of awe at the sheer scale and beauty of this extraordinary place. It's a testament to human artistry and spirituality - simply awe-inspiring. And I can't wait to see Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. Who knows, maybe I'll even get some artistic inspiration from the legendary Renaissance master himself?

The highlight of today was certainly a private ballet lesson with a brilliant Italian choreographer! It was an incredibly uplifting session with amazing, elegant moves. The joy of dance fills my soul - it’s so thrilling to explore new ways to express myself through this beautiful art form. And this time, it’s even more special thanks to the magical aura of Rome.

I've found Rome to be the most vibrant and charming city I’ve visited so far - truly enchanting. I’ve met so many lovely people here, who’ve welcomed me with open arms. They tell me, you're bringing a touch of colour and joy to our city. That’s exactly what I want to do - share the Pink Tutu love and make everyone smile.

My Pink Tutu journeys are funded by the magic of my performances. I have to admit, it’s an exciting way to see the world, as I dance my way to amazing new experiences and breathtaking scenery! I'm thrilled that ballet can provide the perfect excuse for embracing all things fabulous and embracing the joy of travel! It's definitely my calling to keep travelling the world with my Pink Tutu - a touch of pink joy and delight for everyone!

As I’m busy putting together an online ballet course on my Pink Tutu website (www.pink-tutu.com), I'll also be blogging my Rome adventure in a post next Wednesday. So stay tuned for the latest from the Eternal City. In the meantime, don't forget to follow my adventures on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter - and let’s share the love! It’s all about celebrating the pink, the beautiful and the glamorous, just like the Pink Tutu herself.

Until next time, *Ciao Bella! *
