Pink Tutu Rome: #622 - Bella Roma, Bella Vita!

Buongiorno, darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm writing to you from the heart of Rome, where the sun is shining and the gelato is flowing! This week marks the beginning of my Roman adventure, and let me tell you, I'm positively smitten with this incredible city.

The Train Journey

I must confess, I absolutely adore train travel. There's something so romantic and charming about hurtling across Europe in a luxurious carriage, gazing out at the picturesque countryside as it rushes past. The journey from Derbyshire was as smooth as a perfectly executed pirouette, and the friendly, efficient staff on board ensured a comfortable and delightful journey.

Landing in La Cittร  Eterna

The moment I arrived at Roma Termini, the air felt electric. A vibrant energy crackled through the streets, a melody of chattering voices, the honking of taxis, and the aroma of freshly baked bread filled my senses. As I navigated through the cobblestone streets, my eyes were feasting on the iconic sights โ€“ the Colosseum, a majestic beast of a building, stood tall and proud, its ancient stones whispering tales of gladiatorial combat. I couldn't help but imagine myself in a graceful dance atop its majestic structure, swirling like a graceful pink tutu clad goddess amongst the echoes of history.

A Tutus and Trevi Fountains Kinda Day

Of course, my first stop was a delightful boutique overflowing with gorgeous tutus. I couldn't resist adding a vibrant, cerise tutu to my collection, its fluffy layers practically begging to be twirled in the Roman sunshine. It just felt like a "Rome" kinda purchase, darling!

Later, we visited the Trevi Fountain, a magical place where the wish of every pink-tutu loving heart is sure to come true! After throwing a coin into the crystal-clear waters, I made a wish for even more wonderful adventures in Italy and hoped it wouldn't take too many more coins to manifest them. You can bet your bottom dollar I made another wish to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu!

Food Glorious Food!

Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without indulging in its culinary delights. Pasta dishes were so flavourful I wanted to dance around the table, and pizza - well, the thought of it even now sends a shiver of pure delight down my spine! And don't even get me started on the gelato! Imagine layers of smooth, creamy goodness, flavoured with sweet berries and refreshing fruit, melting away in my mouth like the most delightful dance ever performed. It was truly heavenly!

Showtime!

Later that evening, we attended a captivating ballet performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The ballet dancers, their bodies honed and graceful, flowed across the stage, each movement a masterpiece of elegance. The sheer artistry was so enchanting, and the vibrant costumes a colourful and inspiring dream. The applause was deafening and, you can imagine my absolute glee as the ballerinas took their final bows! You know my pink tutu went crazy for the show!

Rome: A City For Dreams and Tutus

Rome, darling, you have completely captured my heart! With your ancient ruins, bustling piazzas, delicious food and awe-inspiring ballet performances, you're truly the perfect combination of culture, fashion, and fantasy!

This is just the beginning of my Roman adventure. Stay tuned for more from my blog about the wonders I'll find, the shopping I'll indulge in, the shows I'll see, and, of course, the pink tutus that will be twirling with me!

Until next week, darlings! Remember, pink tutus make everything more fabulous!
