#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella! 🩰🇮🇹 (Post #625)

Ciao bellissimo readers!

It’s Emma here, and I’m finally back from Rome – can you believe it? I had such an incredible trip, and I just had to share all my adventures with you. You might be thinking, "Rome? What's with the sudden detour from ballet, Emma?" Well, my lovely, you see, Rome and ballet have something very important in common: they both inspire artistry, beauty, and passion! Plus, a certain iconic ballerina happened to be performing in Rome this week, and I just couldn’t miss it.

This week’s post marks a slightly different format from the usual ballet shenanigans. (Don't worry, there’ll be plenty of twirling and tutu-talk soon enough). Instead, this #PinkTutuRome is filled with Italian sunshine, beautiful architecture, fabulous gelato, and – you guessed it – pink tutus. You just can't take the pink tutu out of the girl, even when she's exploring a historic metropolis! 😉

But before we get to all the exciting details, let me tell you a little about my journey. It began in the most delightful way: a train journey. Now, I love trains. There’s something about being in a train carriage, whizzing through countryside and past quaint little towns that feels wonderfully liberating. It was a chance for me to let my imagination run wild and dream of all the things to come – mostly the perfect outfit to wear at the ballet!

Pink Tutus and Italian Sun

We arrived in Rome and immediately started to explore the vibrant, historical centre. The sunshine was absolutely dazzling, and the Italian charm just swept me away! My first thought, of course, was, "I need a pink tutu to wear around this magnificent city." And let me tell you, that thought turned into an obsession! Luckily, a little boutique I stumbled upon while strolling down a narrow, cobblestone street had a beautiful, bubblegum pink tutu just waiting for me. (It was almost like fate was telling me to put on a tutu in Rome!)

And it did. My trip would not have been complete without this playful, iconic look. There I was, spinning through ancient ruins and piazzas, twirling in the sunshine – a pink tutu-clad ballerina amidst the history of Rome. It brought joy to my heart, and, I think, put a smile on everyone’s faces as they saw me bounding past! I am always a firm believer in adding a little bit of pink and sparkle wherever I go. It makes the world just that bit brighter and more magical.

Speaking of sparkle, there’s no denying that Rome itself is absolutely sparkling with grandeur! Everywhere I turned, there was a new stunning vista, from the imposing Colosseum to the enchanting Pantheon. I loved exploring each of the different piazzas and streets, soaking in the history and beauty. It was like stepping into a living museum!

Delicious Gelato & Artistic Delights

No trip to Rome would be complete without experiencing the true magic of the place. The food, especially! I’ll be honest; the gelato was a definite highlight. Every day, I found a new, more decadent flavour. (Don’t judge me, okay? We all have our guilty pleasures, and gelato in Rome is an absolute joy.) And just in case anyone doubted the beauty of ice cream, I managed to snag some photos of myself twirling through the piazza with my gelato, complete with the perfect ballerina-in-Rome-outfit. Don’t worry, no drips were sacrificed during this photo shoot. You might say, “that’s dedication!”

The Show Must Go On

But I didn’t just wander around, snapping photos and devouring gelato (although I did do a lot of that, to be fair). Rome had some amazing things in store. My main reason for travelling there this time was to see La Divina – the incomparable ballerina. You can't possibly imagine the joy, the grace, the pure beauty of it all! I was literally transported to another world – and honestly, there is nothing like being at a ballet show to get the pink tutu dancing within you! I had chills, tears, laughter – all the emotions a good ballet performance brings. And yes, I wore my pink tutu for the show! My little bit of Derbyshire charm at a prestigious event! It felt like everyone in the audience was captivated by the grace and strength of this magical dancer – and me! The way she moved, it was like she was making the whole theatre come to life. It inspired me so much, I almost burst with ideas for my next ballet performance. You can guarantee my dancing shoes will be putting on a little extra spark the next time I hit the stage!

Memories, Magic & My Favourite Pink Tutu

This trip was so much more than just a quick visit to a famous city. It was an experience that will stay with me forever. The cobbled streets, the sunlight, the gelato, and the ballet, they all weaved together into this perfect memory. Now that I’m back in my little Derbyshire home, it's time to share my #PinkTutuRome adventures with you lovely lot.

My dearest readers, remember: pink tutus are a reminder to embrace joy, celebrate your uniqueness, and always keep your dreams twirling! And remember: the world needs more pink! 🩰💖

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to write to my little Pink Tutu Boutique in Rome, there's another gorgeous pink tutu I have my eye on - after all, who can resist an iconic bubblegum pink outfit?!

Until next Wednesday,

With all my love,

Emma xx
