Pink Tutu Rome: #634 – A Roman Holiday in a Pink Tutu 🩰🇮🇹

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, back from a whirlwind adventure in the Eternal City! As you know, every Wednesday is #PinkTutuRome day here on www.pink-tutu.com, so grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let's dive into a week of fabulous finds, captivating performances, and a dash of Roman magic! ✨

This week was truly something special. I took the train down from Derbyshire, and let me tell you, there's something utterly magical about a train journey. It's a chance to settle in, admire the scenery whizzing by, and let your mind wander, which for me is a perfect opportunity to daydream about the upcoming week and all the amazing sights, performances and shopping delights that await!

Roman Splendour: A Feast for the Senses

Stepping off the train in Rome, the air felt thick with the scent of jasmine and sunshine. It was as if the city itself was greeting me with a warm embrace. I instantly felt my spirits lift as I took in the cobbled streets, the bustling squares, and the awe-inspiring grandeur of ancient ruins.

This week I've been exploring Rome like a true Roman goddess. I mean, who can resist a morning coffee at a chic café with views of the Colosseum? And after, who can resist strolling through the Trevi Fountain tossing in a lucky coin to ensure I return someday?

Speaking of returning, I simply must share this glorious piece of news with you: I snagged a stunning, bespoke pink tutu, hand-sewn in a hidden atelier tucked away in Trastevere. Its layers of delicate tulle shimmer like a thousand sunsets, and it practically begs to twirl in the ancient squares. Just wait until you see it in my next blog post! 🤫

Ballet Bliss: An Ode to Italian Grace

But enough about the tutu for now, darling! Rome is brimming with breathtaking ballet performances. This week I saw a sublime rendition of Giselle at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It was so moving and powerful, it brought tears to my eyes. The choreography, the costumes, the incredible talent – it was an unforgettable experience.

Afterwards, I treated myself to a lovely aperitivo at a terrace overlooking the Roman Forum. There's nothing quite like a delicious cocktail and the sunset casting golden light over ancient stones. Such pure bliss!

A Shopper's Paradise: Fashion finds in Rome

As a true devotee of all things fashionable, Rome was like a wonderland. From the designer boutiques on Via Condotti to the independent ateliers and charming vintage shops in Trastevere, it’s truly a shopper’s dream! I’m a little bit obsessed with the handmade Italian leather handbags I found at a tiny shop called "The Shoemaker's Daughter" – just pure elegance! I managed to pick up a pair of statement earrings from a local artist whose pieces were made from recycled materials. It's amazing how creative you can get when you combine style with sustainability!

A Farewell to Rome

And so, my dearest readers, my Roman adventure comes to a close. This city, with its rich history, enchanting charm, and breathtaking beauty, has stolen a piece of my heart. But all good things must end, and so, my next ballet adventure is beckoning from the cobbled streets of Paris. Can you believe it?!

Stay tuned for my Parisian escapades next week! In the meantime, remember: life is too short to wear boring clothes. Embrace the pink tutu and twirl with joy wherever you may roam. 🩰 💕

Until next Wednesday,

Yours in Pink Tutu and Romance,

Emma
