Buongiorno from the Eternal City, darling! Yes, your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer has finally made it to Rome! 🩰🇮🇹 It feels surreal, I'll admit - a Derbyshire girl in the heart of Italy, surrounded by cobblestones, ancient history, and the most divine gelato I've ever tasted (and believe me, I've tasted many!).
The Train Journey - Always a Ballet in Motion
Let's rewind to my train journey, shall we? Of course, I'd picked the most fabulous pink polka-dot suitcase to match my travelling tutu, and a little pearl-trimmed pink satchel to hold all my essentials - lip gloss, phone charger, and my ballet shoe-shaped hand cream, naturally. I was on the train like a ray of sunshine, and trust me, everyone's faces brightened up at the sight of my pink delight! There's just something so joyful and elegant about the ballet world, don't you agree? Even travelling can be an extension of our passion.
Rome: A Stage for the Senses
Stepping off the train, I was whisked into a world of colour, scent, and sounds. The air vibrated with the chatter of excited tourists and locals alike, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious pastries lingered in the air. The iconic buildings, like grand characters from an ancient fairytale, commanded your attention with their beauty and history. It felt as though the city itself was ready for a ballet performance!

Oh, I have such a magical week planned in this city!
Today, Wednesday:
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping! This evening, darling, is all about unleashing my inner fashionista! I'm heading to Via Condotti, Rome's luxurious shopping street. I hear Valentino, Fendi, and even a fabulous new shoe store, just bursting with ballet pumps in the most glorious colours imaginable, are waiting for me. Let's just say, my wardrobe's about to get a pink-tinted upgrade!
Opera Under the Stars Nothing beats a night at the opera in a beautiful Italian city, so this evening, I'm taking myself to a special Opera Performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for some grand Italian opera and ballet. This evening, they are playing a ballet about Romeo & Juliet! The iconic balcony scene performed by beautiful ballerinas is one of the things that has got me super excited. I'm so eager to take it all in - the costumes, the drama, the emotions - it's going to be magical!
My Rome Inspiration:
You know me, darling, I'm always searching for inspiration, especially when it comes to my beloved tutus! Rome, with its dramatic architecture and rich history, is the perfect backdrop for some tutu inspiration. I imagine myself twirling across cobblestone streets in a flowing, ethereal tulle tutu - just a dash of romanticism in a city steeped in ancient beauty. Oh, I'm just so inspired!
