Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! (Post #812)
Ciao from the Eternal City, my darling pink-loving tutu-tastic followers! It's Emma here, writing to you from the heart of Rome, Italy. As you know, Wednesdays are dedicated to my Roman adventures, and this week, my dears, is particularly special. Why? Because it's my birthday week!
A Tutu-ful Journey
I've been absolutely buzzing since arriving in Rome last week. My journey here was as whimsical as always. You know I adore the thrill of travelling by train - it's like a stage set on wheels, you see. I even managed to wear my new pink feather boa for the journey – a splash of colour amidst the usual Parisian grey and white! And oh, the Parisian cafes! So chic and utterly charming. I had a scrumptious croissant, of course, in my best Parisian-style outfit.
The train ride across the Italian countryside was spectacular, too. Fields of bright red poppies, ancient castles, vineyards basking in the Tuscan sunshine – a perfect palette for a budding ballerina’s eye!
Rome, Oh Rome!
And then there's Rome! From the moment I stepped off the train at Termini station, I knew this city was going to be something special. I could feel it in my tutu, if you will! I've fallen in love with its ancient beauty, the incredible food, the romance of the streets, and of course, the gorgeous clothes shops.
Fashionable Frolics
My suitcase is practically bursting with new delights, each piece chosen with the same care and precision I give to selecting my ballet costumes. My Rome haul is going to be spectacular – just wait till I post some outfit pics on the Instagram!
A Roman Ballet Dream
One of the things I'm most looking forward to in Rome is the chance to see some incredible ballet performances. This week, I'm going to see a special rendition of Giselle at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. I can hardly contain myself! I'm already planning my outfit – it'll be my new lavender tulle tutu, with some chic pearl earrings, of course. Just picture it – the pink and lavender combo, magnifique!
Dancing with the Locals
But I haven't forgotten my daily dose of ballet class, even while I'm on holiday. This city is buzzing with vibrant studios. Yesterday, I took a masterclass at a local dance studio nestled amongst the winding streets. We worked on a beautiful ballet en pointe routine with graceful lines and elegant turns – I'm absolutely en pointe with my progress so far!
Eating like a Princess
No trip to Rome is complete without indulging in delicious food, my dears! So, of course, I've been tasting every morsel I can find – delicious pizzas, creamy gelato, pasta galore – it's all simply divine! It’s hard to find the time to go shopping with a stomach so full, I can tell you!
Wednesday’s Treats
As it’s a Wednesday and you're all waiting patiently for your weekly update, I must share my plans for today. It’s December 29th, and the city is celebrating the end of the year with lots of festivities and events. This afternoon, I'll be visiting the Spanish Steps, watching the street performers and trying to soak in the buzzing atmosphere. Tonight, I'm off to the Trastevere neighbourhood, where I've heard there are fantastic live music spots, and plenty of places to sip on a decadent cappuccino!
A Tutu-ful Message
From the heart of Rome, my message to you is simple – dance your heart out, live life to the fullest, and always remember the magic of a pink tutu. It’s a reminder to find your own inner sparkle and embrace every moment. Remember, my dear tutu-tastic friends, wearing pink doesn't make you girly – it makes you fabulous.
Don't forget to follow along on Instagram and check out my next Rome blog post next week – I've got loads more exciting adventures planned!
Ciao for now, darlings!
Lots of love,
Emma
