Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! - #855

Hello my darling tutu-loving lovelies! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post, direct from the Eternal City! Can you believe I'm actually here? This week has been a whirlwind of beautiful sights, delicious food, and oh, the shopping!

Remember how I told you I was dreaming of dancing in the Colosseum? Well, this week that dream came true โ€“ in my very own, perfectly pink, feather-trimmed tutu! Honestly, who wouldn't want to pirouette in such a spectacular location?

It all started with a train ride from Derbyshire, of course. The journey was, as always, a dream! I had the window seat and gazed out at the ever-changing landscape. Green rolling hills gave way to picturesque villages, and finally, the grand majesty of the Alps. I found myself gazing out, completely mesmerised, and for a moment, it was just me and the mountains. That's the magic of travel, isn't it?

But Rome was calling, and as soon as the train arrived in Roma Termini station, I could feel the electricity in the air. The warm, sunny skies and the aroma of freshly baked bread and coffee made me giddy. I was officially in Italy!

Speaking of giddy, let's talk shopping! Every single corner of this city is bursting with stylish boutiques and designer names. And let's be honest, I couldn't resist indulging myself.

Firstly, a visit to Piazza Navona was in order. This beautiful, baroque-style square, is brimming with artists selling their wares, street performers, and a real hustle and bustle. I found the perfect silk scarf to match my pink tutu (with sequins of course!), as well as the most exquisite pair of white leather sandals โ€“ just begging to be twirled in.

After my afternoon shopping spree, I indulged in some divine Italian gelato. Peach and prosecco for me โ€“ my new favourite flavour combination!

Then, it was time for my favourite part of every day in Rome โ€“ the breathtaking sunset. From the steps of the Spanish Steps, I witnessed the city turn golden as the sun dipped below the horizon, bathing everything in a warm, magical light. If I were a painter, this view would be my masterpiece!

On this particular Wednesday, however, my Rome agenda called for something special: a ballet show at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.

After enjoying a truly delicious, (and authentically Italian!) three-course meal โ€“ think homemade pasta with truffle sauce and tiramisu so creamy it melted in your mouth โ€“ I was ready to embrace the beauty of classical ballet.

This was no ordinary performance. It was 'Romeo and Juliet', the most famous love story ever told, brought to life in a stunning and passionate ballet performance. I found myself deeply touched, and Iโ€™m not even ashamed to admit a tear or two escaped my eye! This is exactly what I love about travel โ€“ the power of stories to connect us all across cultures and languages.

As I strolled back to my little boutique hotel in Trastevere (it's so charming, tucked away in a cobbled alleyway!) โ€“ it wasnโ€™t a ballet show that I dreamt about โ€“ but a real-life Italian romance!

Speaking of real-life, I have to share with you all, something very special. It's Wednesday afternoon, and you know what that means... Pink Tutu Time!

The Pantheon:

Remember, one of my goals in life is to wear my pink tutu everywhere? This week I finally achieved a dream come true, I danced my heart out on the floor of The Pantheon! I simply couldn't resist the opportunity to spin in this majestic space. The perfect blend of ancient architecture and a dazzling pink tutu, what could be more fabulous? Letโ€™s just say that the gods smiled down upon me โ€“ because a fellow ballet-lover who also happens to be a Pink Tutu Ambassador (isnโ€™t that title fantastic!), came up to me, captured the whole thing on his phone, and uploaded the video to YouTube! Now the whole world can see the magic of a pink tutu and the Pantheon! (Find the link on the Pink Tutu website, you can find it at www.pink-tutu.com).

As for the rest of my stay, itโ€™s a blur of delightful sights and sounds, incredible food, endless coffee and pastry indulgences, and the feeling of being completely embraced by this magnificent city.

I'll leave you with this thought, darling readers โ€“ life is short, but adventures are endless. Don't just dream about travel, make it happen. And don't forget, your Pink Tutu will be your loyal companion on every adventure! I hope you enjoyed this week's post. And now, excuse me, I have an espresso and a cannoli to get to!

Ciao bella, and don't forget to twirl!

Love always,

Emma.
