Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another fabulous Pink Tutu blog post, straight from the heart of Rome! This week’s post is all about exploring the Eternal City, with a sprinkle of ballet magic, a dash of haute couture and, of course, a whole lot of pink.
From Derbyshire to Dolce Vita
Let me tell you, the journey from my little corner of Derbyshire to this magnificent metropolis was an absolute dream. I simply adore travelling by train. It's such a lovely way to take in the scenery and daydream. This trip, I opted for the Eurostar - I must say, they do know how to treat a girl! Comfortable seating, delicious food, and endless possibilities for outfit changes (who needs a runway when you have a whole train carriage?!).
Arriving in Roma, a City that Speaks to My Tutu Soul
Rome - what can I say? This city is truly breathtaking! Imagine the most stunning architecture, cobbled streets buzzing with life, and an atmosphere that's equal parts romantic and electric. I can tell I’m going to fall deeply in love with this place.
My first stop, of course, was a visit to the legendary Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. A beautiful old building with such character, the perfect setting for a spectacular ballet performance. It’s funny, even after all my years of performing, I still get that rush of nervous excitement before the curtain rises. I could feel it bubbling under my tutu. This week, I’m seeing ‘Swan Lake’, a ballet that truly captures my imagination with its themes of transformation and duality.
Shopping for Couture in Rome: Where Ballerinas Go To Dress
Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a shopping spree! My itinerary is choc-a-block with boutique visits and visits to iconic department stores. After all, I have to make sure I've got the perfect ensemble for all of the exciting adventures that lie ahead!
I already discovered a gorgeous vintage shop tucked away in the cobbled streets of Trastevere – a treasure trove of chic, retro designs that have the most divine colour palettes (and let’s face it, they love their pink in Rome, just like me!) I managed to find a vintage scarf with exquisite lace detail - it'll look sensational with a new pair of blush-coloured stilettos for my ballet evening at the theatre.
Foodie Finds in Rome: Where Elegance Meets Deliciousness
Tonight, I'm indulging in a divine dinner at a hidden gem in the heart of Rome. This charming little ristorante serves traditional Italian cuisine, and the atmosphere is so romantic – perfect for sparking up those post-ballet show chats.
Tonight’s culinary delights included handmade pasta with a delicious ragu sauce and a crisp, aromatic Roman salad with a light lemon vinaigrette – just what my stomach needed after that ballet! Followed of course by an indulgent tiramisu that was light as a feather!
Life’s a Stage and Rome is the Dress Rehearsal
I am truly in my element here in Rome! It's a place that understands beauty in its purest form. From the architecture that leaves you breathless to the stunning choreography that sets your heart aflutter, it’s an endless source of inspiration for my Tutu world! I have so much more to share - a visit to the Colosseum, more ballet magic, and even more fashionable adventures to tell you about!
