#PinkTutuRome: Wednesday 2012-01-04 - Ciao Bella, Roma!

Welcome to Pink Tutu Diaries, #865!

This week, my darlings, we’re off to the Eternal City, that captivating metropolis that is Rome! It feels so exciting to be typing this from a little Italian café, sunlight streaming in, cappuccino warming my hands, the scent of espresso and pastries hanging in the air. Yes, this pink tutu is living the dream!

The train journey here was bliss. Nothing beats watching the countryside fly past, my little ballet bag snuggled on my lap. As the Italian Alps peeked through the snow-dusted fields, my head was already brimming with ballet inspiration. You see, dear readers, my goal is not only to make everyone embrace their inner ballerina but also to inspire them to travel and see the world in a whole new light, a pink tutu-tinted light!

Rome has a special place in my heart. From ancient ruins to vibrant piazzas, it pulsates with history, art and, of course, fashion. My Instagram is already exploding with pictures of all the stunning outfits I’ve seen. (You must check it out – #PinkTutuRome is going wild!) I have a feeling I’ll be wearing my fabulous pink sequined tutu quite a bit this week, amongst all the gorgeous marble and cobble stones. It's a perfect match!

Speaking of fashion, what is it about this city that inspires such elegant styles? Perhaps it’s the heritage, the beautiful buildings, the passion that pours from every corner. Rome just has this undeniable charisma.

A Whirlwind Tour (in Pink, Naturally!)

Today, after indulging in the most delicious panino I’ve ever had (and that’s saying something, Derbyshire folks!) we explored the Roman Forum. What a sight! The grand ruins are just so powerful. I even caught myself trying to spin around those old pillars, picturing myself as a Roman goddess. Oh, the stories they could tell!

After that, we wandered into the beautiful Trastevere neighborhood, the narrow cobbled streets buzzing with life. We stumbled upon a stunning vintage clothing shop that was bursting with beautiful pieces. You could almost smell the stories that each garment held. I managed to nab a fabulous, lace-trimmed dress – perfect for my Roman ballet inspired photoshoot tonight!

Tonight, we’re going to see the show at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. I can’t wait to see some exquisite ballet artistry on this stunning stage. It's such an inspiration to see dancers bringing the magic of classical stories to life, making me want to dance even harder! I’ll tell you all about it in next week's blog.

Life on the Pink Side

You know, it’s been a whirlwind of a week – the kind of week that fills you with pure joy. Every little thing, every street, every delicious bite, every glimpse of this majestic city…it's been magical!

This trip was fuelled by the kindness of audiences at my last performances, so thank you for making this trip possible, darlings. You make me want to twirl even more!

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@PinkTutuEmma) for all the behind-the-scenes glimpses of our Roman adventure. I'm so grateful to be able to share this journey with all of you, my lovely followers. Remember, life is short – so why not add a touch of pink tutu to your days? Ciao bella!
