Ciao, darlings!
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for a fresh Pink Tutu Rome update! This week, I’m feeling super-duper excited because… guess what?! I’m in Italy! More precisely, the most magical city in the world… Rome!
Remember how I was hinting about my big travel plans a couple of weeks ago? Well, the time has come for yours truly, Emma the Pink Tutu, to trade the Peak District for the glorious piazzas of Rome! The train journey from Derbyshire was a dream - a luxurious snooze on the Eurostar with a touch of glamour thanks to my trusty, super-sparkly pink tutu! And honestly, when in doubt, more pink is always the answer!
This trip has been years in the making - a whirlwind of ballet shows, the most delectable Italian cuisine, and shopping adventures! It’s the ultimate Pink Tutu experience. Speaking of, this whole adventure is actually fuelled by my ballet. Did you know I’ve been dancing my way through Europe, performing in various festivals and fundraisers? It’s a fantastic way to combine my love of travel, pink, and the ballet. Honestly, I’m living my best life!
Now, where were we? Oh yes, Rome! Since arriving in this captivating city, I’ve already experienced some absolute gems.
The Colosseum: It was every bit as epic as I imagined! I couldn't resist twirling on the marble steps while channeling my inner gladiatrix! I think I made a few tourists' days by adding some pink flair to their photos, which is what it’s all about really - spreading pink joy.
The Trevi Fountain: It’s so gorgeous! And, of course, I had to toss in a coin with a twirl for good measure. Just remember, girls, you’ll need two coins: one to return to Rome and the second… well, for a fabulous pink tutu, naturally!
Shopping: Oh darling, let’s talk shopping. Now, Rome’s a paradise for fashionistas. I've already discovered a boutique hidden in Trastevere - a delightful maze of Italian silk, leather, and all things pretty! Imagine: me, Emma the Pink Tutu, browsing for some exquisite new tutus… pure bliss! You'll have to check out my new acquisitions in next week’s post!
Ballet Heaven: Today, I experienced a dream come true: the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma! Watching the dancers perform was simply magical. Such incredible grace, such strength and power… It just reminded me why I fell in love with the art form.
And speaking of dreams, here’s a bit of behind-the-scenes magic for you: this evening I’m heading to see the Vatican City. Who knows what exciting ballet-inspired adventures I'll have in the Vatican? I've even got a new pink tulle outfit ready to channel my inner Roman goddess! You know me, it’s never too much pink!
But of course, Rome is more than just its iconic sights. It's also the delightful atmosphere, the incredible street art, and the delicious food. (Just try the pasta, darling, you’ll thank me later!) It’s the warmth and generosity of the Italian people that truly makes this city so special.
Oh, and let’s not forget the pink! Honestly, I feel like I’m in a technicolour dreamland here! Pink roses climb the walls, cafes are awash with soft blush tones, and even the sunset has a beautiful blush glow. My tutu's never looked more fabulous, darling, I can tell you! And I'm planning a little Pink Tutu photo shoot at the sunset… more about that next week!
