Pink Tutu Rome: A Whirlwind of Beauty and Pink! (Post #910)
Buongiorno, my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful dose of Pink Tutu Rome. I'm writing to you from a sun-drenched terrace overlooking the Tiber, the smell of espresso wafting up from a little cafe just below. This city is just so enchanting, a dream of ancient history and Italian style all rolled into one.
Today is my third day in the Eternal City, and oh, has it been an absolute whirlwind. Let's delve into the pink-tinted magic of it all…
The Magic of Train Travel
My journey started in dear, old Derbyshire. My usual commute takes me to London for rehearsals and performances, but this time I was taking the Eurostar, all the way to Rome! And there's nothing I love more than a train journey - I had a chance to relax, read my favourite ballerina magazine (which was all about tutus this month, how exciting!), and even enjoy a little sketching in my notebook (which is always full of design ideas, of course!). The thrill of whisking through Europe, past quaint countryside and bustling cities, just fills me with joy!
Pink Tutu Meets Pantheon
After a smooth and satisfying journey, we arrived in Rome and it was like stepping into a movie scene! The streets were alive with activity and that warm, welcoming Italian atmosphere instantly captured my heart.
My first stop? The magnificent Pantheon, of course. It’s just as breath-taking as I imagined, towering over the bustling piazza with its giant dome and incredible columns. I decided a little impromptu performance was in order, and yes, the Pantheon’s grandeur made for the most amazing backdrop. It felt so theatrical, so classic, almost as though the ancient Romans were dancing right along with me! Of course, my tutu sparkled like a true star, shimmering in the Roman sunlight. I'll share the video on our social channels later, you won’t want to miss it!
Trevi Fountain, Tutus and Treats
Then it was off to the Trevi Fountain - it's said throwing a coin in ensures you’ll return to Rome. Of course, I had a sparkling pink coin ready, it wouldn’t do to throw in just any ordinary old penny! The scene was chaotic but utterly magical; tourists from all over the world crowding around, admirers soaking in the stunning artistry and romance of the fountain, and of course, yours truly, dazzling in my favourite pink tulle masterpiece.
Afterwards, we grabbed the tastiest paninis (which came with a side of my beloved limonata!) and headed to a little gelato shop. Did I mention how much I love Italian gelato? It's a festival of flavours and a real delight for my sweet tooth! (And yes, they have pink flavour – what a dream!)
Pink Perfection at a Roman Fashion Show
This city is all about the fashion, it simply oozes it, and my, oh my, have I been on a shopping spree! I found a pair of incredible lace-up heels and a silk scarf the colour of my very first tutu! My wardrobe needed a serious Rome-themed update, it’s the only logical thing to do in this style-conscious city.
And then came the fashion show! I had to get tickets, it’s always so much fun to see what designers are creating and get inspired for my own dancewear creations. This one was held in an ornate palazzo with gilded ceilings and stunning décor. As much as I love classic silhouettes and dreamy ball gowns, it was the vibrant colour palette that caught my eye. Imagine if those colours were reflected in my tutus... just thinking about it sets my heart racing with excitement!
Dreaming of Italian Elegance
Tonight, we are planning to go to an opera – I love the opulence, the stories they tell, the costumes, the feeling that time stands still during that glorious music. This trip has given me so many new ideas for ballet performances that really blend classical and modern styles. Rome, it really is inspiring on every level!
Rome – More Than Just Pink
My dear readers, it’s clear to me that I’m just skimming the surface of this beautiful city! From the majestic Colosseum to the quirky shops in Trastevere, there’s always something new to discover around every corner. There are endless adventures yet to come in this enchanting Italian wonderland.
But one thing is for sure, pink tutus will forever hold a special place in my Roman travels!
And with that, I bid you adieu for now, until next Wednesday, when I’ll be back with even more tales of my Italian escapade.
Stay gorgeous, my darlings, and remember – Pink is Always the Answer!
