Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! 🩰🇮🇹 (Post #925)

Wednesday, 27th February, 2013

Hello, my gorgeous lovelies! 💖 This week, I'm bringing you all the sunshine and Italian charm from the heart of Rome! I can barely contain myself, because this week has been simply divine - filled with cobbled streets, gorgeous gelato, and oh so much pink, darling!

Travelling by Train:

I've always loved the magic of train journeys, and this time was no different! Arriving in Rome by train just felt so romantic and exciting. The Italian countryside flew past my window, a blur of vineyards and rolling hills bathed in sunshine, it was the perfect start to my Roman adventure.

Tutu Time in Rome:

You can bet your bottom dollar that I came prepared for this trip, my darling! I packed not one, but two gorgeous tutus for this jaunt - a delicate blush pink tulle number that shimmered in the sunlight, perfect for exploring ancient ruins and elegant cafes, and a bolder, ruby pink tutu with layers and layers of fluffy feathers for those special evening outings. Trust me, the stares were worth it - Rome really is a place for expressing your inner sparkle! ✨

My Rome Fashion Inspiration:

Oh, the fashion! From the chic Roman ladies rocking those divine designer sunglasses to the flamboyant street artists, the colour and vibrancy of Rome inspired me on a whole new level. The street fashion here is daring, playful, and full of personality - a little bit of 'bella' chic and a lot of playful confidence! My outfits this week have definitely had a little bit of a 'Roman holiday' vibe!

Exploring the Eternal City:

This week, my itinerary was crammed with fabulous discoveries - every day a new adventure! I wandered the Colosseum, its grandeur and history giving me goosebumps, climbed the Spanish Steps (wearing my pink heels, of course!), and marveled at the artistry of the Trevi Fountain. I even made a pilgrimage to the Pantheon, an incredible example of Roman architecture - did you know it was actually the first large-scale building to have a concrete dome? Amazing, isn't it?

Ballet in Rome:

I couldn't possibly come to Italy without taking in some stunning ballet performances. This weekend, I’m attending the opera “La Bohème,” which is a breathtaking experience - just imagine the intense passion of the story, the vibrant music, and those stunning costumes against the beautiful backdrop of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. And guess what, dear readers? I got to try out the gorgeous "Balletschool Rome", a studio that caters to both young and mature students. This beautiful space will allow me to try out the elegance of Italian ballet. (Maybe I'll get a picture in my pink tutu outside the school! 😉)

Food and Shopping:

Food glorious food! Oh, where to start? The flavours of Italy are simply incredible. Every single bite was a pure joy – the creamy ricotta stuffed pasta, the divine fresh seafood, the heavenly tiramisu – it's no wonder Italians are renowned for their love of food. I've even tried my hand at making fresh pasta, and let me tell you, I'm quite proud of the results!

And the shopping? Simply amazing! Rome is a treasure trove of beautiful leather goods, vintage jewellery, and exquisite silk scarves. I have already picked up some divine treasures, from a delicate lace scarf with delicate pink blooms, a swoon-worthy chain purse, and of course, a beautiful pair of leather ballet flats for my upcoming ballerina practice in Rome. I think it's safe to say my wardrobe is definitely going to need a serious re-organisation on my return to Derbyshire!

Pink Tutu Dream:

I truly believe in the power of the pink tutu to bring joy and magic into the world, and I am delighted to share my journey to share the pink tutu spirit with everyone I meet on my adventures! I think the Italian people appreciate the fun and whimsical spirit of pink tutus – just look at the vibrancy and fashion of Rome – everyone is dancing their own happy little ballet. 💖

Next Week’s Blog:

Be sure to come back next Wednesday, my darlings, as I'm off to visit Florence! 🌺 I'm excited to see Michelangelo's David, get lost in the gardens, and of course, enjoy more delicious Italian treats and take in some breathtaking architecture. Will I be able to spot a new addition to my tutu collection? Only time will tell!

Until next week, keep twirling!

Love,

Emma
