#PinkTutuRome - Week 927: Buongiorno Bella Roma!

Hello darling readers! It's Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, reporting live from the glorious city of Rome! As you all know, I love to travel, and I'm utterly smitten with this stunning city.

Rome, my sweet, sweet Rome, you have stolen my heart! I have always wanted to come to Italy, and now I'm finally here, I'm completely and utterly besotted.

Travelling by Train, Always A Good Idea! I hopped on a Eurostar to Paris last week, which was, of course, a delightful adventure. After a fun-filled shopping spree in the French capital (the croissants are divine, don't you think?), I took the Thalys train to Rome. Now, travelling by train is one of my favourite ways to get around, and I adore the view from the train window, all those picturesque fields and countryside whizzing by. The carriages were super comfy too - it was practically like travelling in a moving pink boudoir, but that might be just because I took my beloved pink tutu with me. You can't imagine what a talking point it is when I board the train. I’m not kidding, I get asked to pose for photos all the time.

#PinkTutuRome! You might already be following my #PinkTutuRome Instagram series! I'm using it to share photos of my adventures in the Eternal City. I've already had so much fun exploring the Colosseum, The Trevi Fountain and even managed a little waltz at Piazza Navona. It's all so grand and majestic here - you feel like you’re stepping straight into an ancient film.

Mamma Mia! - Roman Shopping! This weekend was dedicated to all things shopping! Of course, when you're in a new country you need to hit the shops, right? Rome didn't disappoint, offering me a beautiful mix of vintage charm and contemporary glamour. I came across some truly exquisite boutiques bursting with stunning clothing, and found a beautiful silk scarf embroidered with flowers (with a gorgeous fuchsia hue of course, it just screamed "Rome!") and some dazzling jewellery at a street market on Via Condotti.

Dancing the Night Away: Rome's Opera Scene! Now, it’s no secret that I love going to the opera, it’s in my blood. So, what’s more perfect than watching a classic opera in Rome? Last night I took in a fabulous performance of "La Traviata" at the magnificent Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It was utterly breathtaking. The set, the costumes, the music, everything was magnificent.

Rome's Delicious Delights No trip to Italy is complete without a delicious pasta feast! Last night, I savored a beautiful bowl of Cacio e Pepe. The creamy cheesy sauce was heavenly, and I have to admit I snuck a peek into the kitchen while I waited for my pasta, because every kitchen in Italy seems so inviting – they all have these large copper pots that look like something from a Disney movie!

What I love most about travelling is the joy of immersing yourself in different cultures and meeting new people. And the wonderful, kind and welcoming Romans I've met so far have been nothing short of spectacular. They are so passionate about their city, their food and the wonderful history and culture that surrounds them.

Tutus in the Italian Sun While I'm here, I'll of course be wearing my favourite pink tutu as I wander through Rome's iconic streets! And, because Rome is bursting with inspiring fashion trends, I’ll also be trying some fabulous new looks and keeping you up to date with everything, from street style to classic chic. I want you to see the true Italian glamour, which isn’t afraid to mix both edgy and elegant with an air of nonchalant chic. It is so inspiring to watch women here effortlessly pulling off both romantic, feminine looks and powerful business wear all at the same time.

Keep following my blog, as I continue my Italian journey in a week, sharing my favourite moments. Next Wednesday, I’ll be taking you to the incredible Vatican City. You really don’t want to miss that. Until then, **keep shining, my darlings!

About the Pink Tutu Blog

Welcome to the Pink Tutu Blog! Here I'm going to share my experiences from around the globe with my darling readers. I’ll be sharing my adventures, showing off some inspiring outfits and encouraging you all to try some new daring fashion and ballet looks!

You might not believe it, but my travel journey began by accident! When I was a little girl I was just as smitten with pink tutus and travelling as I am today. In Derbyshire, where I’m from, a new ballet studio had just opened. They put on their first show and asked my mum to help sew costumes for their dancers, as she was a dressmaker at the time. So, she had to make me one too.

From that day, I fell in love with all things ballet and have never looked back. I absolutely loved spending all those hours practicing and rehearsing in my lovely, flowing tutu. But when it came to performances, I loved performing on stage even more - and watching other dancers and seeing their faces and the pure joy of the dance.

My family used to joke that I wouldn't just sit and watch a ballet show, I’d get up and perform on the stage myself - always a bit of a show-off!

A Pink Tutu and My Ballet Career

Now, at 25, I’ve achieved my biggest dream: I joined a professional ballet company when I was 17, and am making a career as a professional ballerina. And of course, I do ballet whenever I get the chance, from street performances, choreography workshops and ballet classes!

I’ve been a dancer and ballet enthusiast all my life, and I adore everything about it. As for tutus, I am obsessed. I am pretty much convinced that I can get every single girl on the planet to wear a pink tutu one day, as a powerful statement for their unique style, beauty, inner dancer and confidence!

How I Fund My Travel

You may ask yourself how I fund all my lovely travel adventures? It’s all thanks to my dance performances, and that's something that I'm deeply proud of. For me, ballet is so much more than a dance – it’s a passion, a life, a beautiful way to express joy, strength and talent to the world, while sharing my joy with others.

Why I Write My Blog

When I’m not touring, you will find me blogging on my website www.pink-tutu.com , sharing my stories, experiences and travels with my darling readers, so you can live through all my adventures, dance lessons, performances and new fashion trends and styles too. Of course, all in a glamorous pink tutu, that’s essential – it is my favourite colour, don’t you just adore it?
