Pink Tutu Rome: Post 935 – La Dolce Vita, Ballet & Tutu Bliss!
Ciao Bella!
Welcome back to Pink Tutu Rome! This week, my darling readers, I’m channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn in this glorious city of Rome! As you know, this stylish, pink-loving ballerina can't resist a good fashion adventure, and what better place to get a dose of European glamour than Rome?
Last Wednesday I caught the train from Florence – oh the joy of European trains, so relaxing and picturesque! I packed my latest pink tutu with a vintage floral print scarf that I snagged at a fab little vintage shop in Florence – can you tell this girl's got an eye for detail? I’m thinking of using it to tie a chic up-do, maybe something inspired by Giselle's delicate elegance?
Upon arriving at Termini Station in Rome, I immediately knew this city would embrace my love for all things pink. Pink roses lined the streets, a vintage Fiat sported a blushing shade of coral, even the ice cream vendors were scooping out luscious pink strawberry gelato! This is my kind of place!
A Day Filled With Italian Charm
Wednesday is my favourite day in Rome because the Colosseum hosts a captivating theatrical performance based on a classic ballet. Imagine a sweeping vista of this ancient Roman marvel, bathed in the warm Tuscan sun, with elegant dancers in billowing tutus captivating audiences – it's a dream come true! The energy was electric, and the ballet, based on the famous Italian legend of Romulus and Remus, left me absolutely spellbound. I particularly loved the playful use of red silk scarves as a symbolic representation of the twin’s journey.
A Chic Shopping Spree in Via Condotti
After the performance, I strolled along Via Condotti, a high-end street bustling with fashionistas and stylish Roman locals. I felt like a Parisian dreaming of the ballet! I fell in love with a stunning pink cashmere scarf from a small boutique tucked away off the main thoroughfare, and a little Valentino bag caught my eye too – the vibrant scarlet color against the ivory lining? A perfect statement piece! The shops were bursting with exquisite shoes, bags, and designer clothes that would have any ballerina swooning! My eyes just drank in all the beauty and detail.
The Roman Ballet School
Rome’s Ballet School is a true haven for all things ballet. From elegant studios with soaring ceilings and wooden floors to captivating masterclasses with legendary instructors – I’ve been so inspired! I got the opportunity to have a private lesson in pointe shoes. They’ve really honed my technique and boosted my confidence. You know me, I'm all about precision and graceful elegance. A girl's gotta keep those muscles toned and graceful.
Pink Perfection in The City
Rome is such an inspiring place for fashion, especially if you're a girl like me who can’t get enough of the vibrant hue of pink. For dinner tonight, I'm planning to visit an enchanting rooftop restaurant in Trastevere. Think cobblestone streets lit by twinkling lights, a warm breeze carrying the scents of Italian spices, a bottle of chilled Italian wine, and me in a dreamy pink sequined tutu. Talk about magical!
A Pink Tutu Mission
As you know, my life's mission is to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu at least once! So far, I've managed to encourage my friends and family to embrace the pink tutu revolution. Today, I met an adorable Italian gentleman who shared my passion. We were discussing ballet when we both realised our mutual love of the tutus! He's quite a dapper gentleman, and even though his suit is always immaculately tailored, I think he might be my first conquest of getting a Roman gentleman into a tutu!
Rome, My Darling, you’re a pink ballerina's dream come true!
