Hello darlings!
It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu wearing, ballet-obsessed, fashionista extraordinaire, and I'm finally in the Eternal City! After a whirlwind trip by train, (first class of course, travelling in style is essential!), I've landed in Rome, and let me tell you, it's even more beautiful than I imagined! The sun is shining, the air smells of freshly baked bread (and possibly the faintest hint of espresso!), and the city itself seems to buzz with excitement, like a dancer poised just before the curtain rises.
A Glimpse into Pink Tutu World: Adventures in Roman Chic
Now, if you've been following my journey (and let's be honest, you wouldn't miss it for the world, right? #PinkTutuRome!), you know I fund my travels with my ballet performances. And speaking of, guess who landed a stunning role in a brand new ballet set to open at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma tomorrow? Yes, yours truly, Emma, is dancing under the glittering chandeliers, twirling under the gaze of ancient Roman history, bringing my brand of Pink Tutu magic to the Italian stage!
This performance, "La Bellezza Eterna," promises to be a masterpiece of breathtaking choreography and music, with costumes that are quite literally to die for (pink and feathers, naturally!), so stay tuned for pictures and videos coming soon! (If you're in Rome, come say hi! It would mean the world to see a familiar pink tutu face in the audience.)
Exploring Rome with a Pink Tutu in Tow
Now, Rome is, well, simply stunning! The Colosseum is even more imposing in person, with its ancient stones whispering stories of emperors and gladiators, and the Trevi Fountain is, well, it's exactly like it is in the movies - majestic and powerful, all those coins making a pretty penny! (But shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I threw a 50 cent piece into the fountain with the secret wish to see a divine, Valentino couture tutu shop just waiting to be discovered).
Iāve even wandered down the vibrant cobbled streets of Trastevere, soaking up the energy of this artistic district, and I'm absolutely head-over-heels in love with the fashion scene here! The Roman style is so unique, so effortlessly chic ā classic tailoring, pops of vibrant colour, and an attitude that simply exudes confidence. And yes, there's an Italian flair for all things pink. I've already picked up a gorgeous silk scarf in the palest blush and, oh, the leather shoes... just divine!
A Touch of Pink in the City of Romance
Naturally, no trip to Rome would be complete without experiencing the legendary romance of the city. Last night, I had the most romantic, al fresco dinner at the prettiest little trattoria tucked away in the heart of Rome. And no, it wouldnāt have been complete without me channeling my inner "La Dolce Vita," spinning on the cobblestone courtyard in my most glorious pink tutu while enjoying a perfectly prepared plate of pasta.
To my delight, the charming maƮtre d', after taking in my pink tutu whirl, brought me the most gorgeous rose (yes, it was the perfect shade of pink) - such a perfect touch to an already magical evening!
But you know me, darling, Iām not one to simply eat pasta and watch pretty lights! I need to move, groove, and yes, wear some fabulous, high-end, tulle to Romeās best ballet performances. So tomorrow, after "La Bellezza Eterna," itās straight to the Teatro Argentina for the world-renowned Compagnia Nazionale di Danza. I canāt wait to immerse myself in the passion of the Italian dancers - this trip is truly all about feeling inspired!
