#PinkTutuRome Wednesday 2014-07-23 exploring Rome Italy

Well, hello there, my gorgeous little darlings! It’s Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad travel companion, beaming to you from the heart of the Eternal City! As you know, I adore travelling and this week, I’m taking you all with me on an extraordinary adventure through Rome!

Remember how I told you about all my gorgeous tutus sitting patiently in my suitcase, waiting for their grand Italian debut? Well, let me tell you, darling, they’ve certainly made their mark on Rome’s stunning cobbled streets and ancient ruins! I can’t get over the magical aura of this place; the delicious food, the vibrant colours, the incredible architecture, and those charming Italians! sigh Rome has a way of capturing your heart and spinning you into its very own fairytale.

But before we jump into the heart of all the wonderful things I’ve seen, let’s have a quick chat about the journey, shall we?

You already know that train journeys are my absolute favourite way to travel. So of course, I took the Eurostar all the way from Derbyshire! Yes, Derbyshire! Who’d have thought you could find a tutu-loving ballerina tucked away in the Peak District? 😉 But darling, when your passion is this strong, even a trip to Rome isn’t far enough to fulfil your dream! 😉

Anyway, my darling, let me tell you about my train journey… I couldn't resist getting myself all glammed up for the trip. Now, you can never underestimate the importance of the perfect travel outfit! My vintage, pale pink cardigan paired perfectly with my shimmering lilac maxi-skirt and, of course, a feather-light, flowing tutu – it was quite the spectacle, darling! Honestly, everyone on the train was mesmerized. But what do you expect, you can’t help but catch someone’s eye when you’re a whirlwind of pink, grace, and Parisian-inspired elegance, now, can you? 😉

Okay, let’s dive straight into the exciting bits, shall we? I have to say, Rome is breathtakingly beautiful! It's like stepping into an old film, only more vivid, vibrant, and utterly magical! And let’s be honest, I always make sure I take my favourite, pink tutu with me to each place I go – It truly makes any place feel a bit more whimsical, don’t you think?

23rd July, 2014 – Wednesday - My Adventures Around Rome*

My Wednesday began with a scrumptious Italian breakfast! Think espresso, croissants, and fresh, juicy fruit. And to make my breakfast even more magical, I decided to pop on a beautiful, fluffy tutu. Now, there’s nothing quite as elegant as having breakfast with the ancient ruins of the Colosseum looming in the background! It felt like stepping into another world - I simply couldn't get enough of it.

Next, I set off to visit the Pantheon! Can you imagine a circular temple, perfectly built and beautifully preserved? Darling, this place took my breath away! The grand columns, the ancient statues, the soft sunlight filtering through the dome – It truly made my heart sing with excitement!

After a long morning of wandering through history, I was ready for some retail therapy! Let's just say, Rome's shops have made my inner fashionista quite happy. Think vintage leather bags, intricate scarves, hand-made shoes, and beautiful handmade jewelry… It’s every shopaholic's dream!

Now, what would a day in Rome be without a taste of delicious, authentic Italian food? I enjoyed an afternoon tea in a little café, which boasted stunning views of the Colosseum. Let me tell you, it felt like I had been whisked away to a storybook world.

And speaking of storybook, darling, the streets are alive with the hustle and bustle of life here in Rome. It's as if everyone is following their own, personal storyline, just waiting to unravel in an unforgettable twist.

Later that night, I stumbled upon an amazing ballet show. Imagine, darling, me, sitting in a grand theatre in Rome, witnessing graceful ballerinas pirouette across the stage - It truly was a magical evening! I couldn’t help but feel so inspired and connected to my fellow dancers. The passion and artistry was intoxicating! I even got to chat with a lovely ballerina, she had studied in Paris - she said the Eiffel Tower looked fantastic in a pink tutu!

Of course, I made sure to try some of Rome's famous gelato. And trust me, it's absolutely divine. I had to try at least four flavours - hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, of course. The creamy textures, the delicious flavours – it was like a dream come true, and a great ending to an amazing day! 😉

I hope you’re all enjoying reading about my adventures. As you can tell, darling, Rome has taken my breath away, and every day here is an absolute whirlwind of joy, whimsy, and excitement.
