Ciao bella! This week finds me waltzing into the Eternal City - Rome! I know, right? I mean, you guys know I love a good train journey, and after touring Paris in the summer, I had to follow my heart and take the Eurostar across the Channel and head straight to Italy. My feet have hardly touched the ground and I already have so much to tell you, darlings.
First of all, letās talk fashion, shall we? Iām really living the āla dolce vitaā - think luxurious fabrics, bright colours, and even more intricate detail than usual. And naturally, a pink tutu was the perfect outfit choice to hit the cobblestone streets, it just had to be! You know, a girl needs to find that little something special to complement the beautiful architecture and Renaissance artwork of Rome, right? And honestly, darling, can you imagine a more stunning backdrop than the Spanish Steps for my pink tutu? No? Didn't think so!
And letās not forget, my darlings, this journey is not just about exploring beautiful locations (although that is certainly a huge part of the fun!) It's about the people too. And Rome has been a treat for my eyes. Think about it: graceful Italian ladies gliding through the streets, stylish gentlemen on Vespas, and so many children giggling as they twirl around fountains ā itās the kind of atmosphere that just makes you want to tap your feet!
Speaking of tap-tap-tapping, let's talk about what I've been up to today, darlings. After my leisurely train ride across the Alps (which gave me the most delightful views of the Italian countryside) I arrived in the heart of the city and wasted no time in hitting the shops. And oh my! Did you know thereās a whole district dedicated to fabrics? Just think of all the silk, tulle, lace, and embellishments I could use to create some truly magical outfits. Now, donāt think Iāve forgotten about the importance of comfort on this trip. Thankfully, Rome also boasts a collection of some of the most beautiful leather goods youāve ever seen. Yes, a girlās gotta look stylish, but a good quality handbag and shoes will get me through days and nights exploring Romeās cobbled streets.
I wouldnāt be me if I hadnāt booked myself a ballet class to shake off the train travel. Finding a ballet studio tucked away in a quiet alleyway was a joy, and oh darling, it felt so good to be back in the studio! Now, you may not think that a tutu is the most sensible choice of attire for ballet class, but you know me ā I think it brings a little bit of sparkle to the experience. Besides, it made my fellow ballet dancers laugh, which was the most lovely welcome to a brand new city!
Tonight I'm excited to attend a classical ballet performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Just imagine: candlelight, chandeliers, and some of the world's best dancers executing the most graceful, intricate moves in one of Rome's grandest buildings. It's going to be spectacular! Now I'll admit, a part of me can't wait to dance in the spotlight, but for now, Iāll be content with absorbing all the artistic energy radiating off the stage.
So much has happened on day one in Rome! And to tell you the truth, darlings, I feel like the journey is only just getting started! I have a feeling that there are so many exciting discoveries waiting to be found here, hidden within the cityās charming squares and winding streets, each with its own little story to tell. Iāll be sure to keep you all updated on my journey!
Now, whoās with me? Iāll be bringing you more Pink Tutu Rome goodness every Wednesday. Be sure to come back next week to see what other fun activities Iām up to. Until next time, darlings, stay fabulous!
xx
