Pink Tutu Rome: #1014 - "La Dolce Vita" in Pink

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure. This week, I've been soaking up the sun and the "la dolce vita" feeling, all whilst twirling around in my favourite pink tutu, of course! Rome is just magic, it's a real feast for the eyes - imagine, ancient history meets vibrant, stylish shops, plus delicious food and friendly faces wherever you go.

From Derbyshire to Rome: Train Travel Dreams

As you know, my love of travel is just as big as my love for ballet and pink tutus. And you know what's even better than twirling in Rome? Getting here on the train! There's something so magical about watching the world fly by through the carriage window. I love the excitement of discovering new places and I feel a real sense of adventure whenever I board a train.

A Ballerina's Day Out: Shopping & Sightseeing

This week's Rome escapade began with a fabulous shopping spree on Via Condotti. Now, darling, let me tell you, it's like a haven for any fashion lover. All the chicest Italian labels were there, beckoning me with their gorgeous window displays and tempting me to try on the most exquisite dresses and shoes. And of course, I made sure I picked up a few little treasures. Can you believe I found the most stunning pink top with lace detail? Perfect for my ballet-themed evenings!

Afterwards, I made my way to the Roman Forum. As a lover of history, I just couldn’t leave Rome without experiencing the ancient grandeur of this historic place. It was breathtaking. It's truly amazing to think of all the emperors and people who walked those same stones so long ago. I imagined myself dancing amongst the ruins - now that's an Instagram picture waiting to happen!

Roman Night Magic: An Unforgettable Show

The best part of my trip was seeing a show at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, home to the famous Teatro di San Carlo, right next door. I love the magic of opera, and seeing it live in Rome felt so special. I felt a twinge of inspiration seeing those incredible dancers on stage. Their skill, passion, and expressiveness made me yearn to get back to my own dancing. Maybe my next post will be about finding a local ballet class here!

Roman Food Delights & The Pink Tutu Effect

I love trying all sorts of delicious food in new cities. And Rome is a real foodie heaven. The food here is incredibly fresh and delicious - from pasta carbonara and creamy tiramisu to pizzas bursting with flavour. And I found the sweetest little trattoria in a quiet, backstreet corner. It felt like a secret little Italian haven!

Of course, I was sporting my favourite pink tutu whilst savouring all the delights of Rome. And what happened, you ask? Well, imagine my surprise when a charming Italian family asked me to pose for a photo with their little girl, who was absolutely enthralled by the pink tutu. That was such a wonderful feeling! It made me think about my aim of getting everyone in the world to wear a pink tutu - one twirl at a time!

Rome is calling, and I must go

Darling, there's still so much to see and do in Rome, and I can’t wait to share all my experiences with you next week. Until then, remember:

  • Live your life in colour!
  • Embrace the magic of travel!
  • Don’t be afraid to twirl!

Lots of love, Emma xx
