Pink Tutu Rome: Post 1033 - "Ciao Bella, It's Time To Waltz!" (25th March, 2015)

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you a whole heap of sunshine and Roman romance straight from the heart of Italy. Yes, that's right, this pink tutu is back in the city of love (and delicious pasta, let's not forget that!)

Last week's post saw me bidding farewell to the cobbled streets and ancient ruins of Vienna. That city certainly got my creative juices flowing, especially with the ballet scene being so strong there. Remember my dazzling tutu inspired by the Schönbrunn Palace? I'm not sure Vienna will ever quite be able to compete with this week's destination, though!

Today's post is a special one, folks, because *we're in Rome! * Ciao bella, darling Rome! I’m absolutely buzzing to be here, taking in all the sights and smells. Oh, and I must mention those delicious gelato shops - my tummy's going to be so very happy this week!

The train journey was blissful. You know I absolutely adore train travel. The scenery zipping past the windows, the gentle sway of the carriage, the delicious sandwiches...it's pure bliss! I've been adding my own personal touches to my carriage with my signature pink accessories, of course, because who wants to be just another drab traveller when you can be a whirling, twirling, ballet-inspired fashionista?

The highlight of my arrival, besides being in the Eternal City itself, was seeing the glorious, grand, historic Termini station. Talk about dramatic architecture! I took a couple of twirls by the colossal pillars, making sure to snap a few pics with the backdrop of all that architectural splendor. It’s just perfect, right?

Right now, I'm feeling incredibly inspired. I can practically hear the graceful steps and the melodic music of a captivating ballet playing out in my head! In fact, tonight I'm going to see a show at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, so be sure to look out for my post-show review later this week.

But before the drama of the ballet stage, there's the matter of some shopping, my dears. This pink tutu has got to be resplendent when it graces the streets of Rome! And you know how much I adore finding hidden boutiques with unique pieces. Maybe I'll even find some vintage items to pair with my signature tutu. Who knows what style surprises I'll find on the Via Condotti, my darling shoppers?

Speaking of surprises, I discovered this amazing artisan chocolate shop near my little apartment in the Trastevere district. Imagine: the aroma of rich chocolate swirling around you while you feast on hand-crafted delights. I mean, does it get much better than that? Let's just say my little pink tutu is feeling quite pampered already.

Oh! Did you see that beautiful fountain with the statue of a beautiful mermaid I found just now? It felt so fitting, my heart already bursting with joy, so I just had to stop and admire it. That’s the beauty of travelling – you get to enjoy all the simple pleasures like a sunny afternoon strolling around and enjoying yourself, whilst still soaking up all that history, art and culture.

My plans for this week are overflowing with Italian fun! Imagine – breathtakingly beautiful churches with stories etched into every stone, ancient ruins that whisper tales of bygone emperors, cobbled alleyways to explore and, of course, those picturesque piazzas, where the aroma of fresh-baked bread lingers in the air. Rome, you are a treasure trove of romance and culture!

But it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without a ballet twist. Tomorrow I’m headed to an outdoor ballet class on the edge of the Borghese Gallery Gardens. A bit of fresh air, a bit of ballet – what's not to love, my dears? Plus, the perfect opportunity to see how the locals work those tutus (even if they are just everyday ones!).

And in the evening? Well, the Trevi fountain is calling my name! It’s going to be an explosion of twinkling lights and happy wishes! Do I dare wish for my own private dance studio filled with sparkly tutus? Probably…

Speaking of sparkles, how about a little sparkle in your week? Have you donned your pink tutus this week? Maybe it's a playful twist for a work meeting, a bright touch for your daily grocery shop, or a way to make a casual outfit a little more whimsical? Do tell! Send me your pink tutu snaps – the more the merrier!

And, remember to stay tuned for all the latest pink-tutu fuelled adventures on www.pink-tutu.com and my social media channels. It’s time to waltz into a spectacular week! Ciao for now, darlings!

Emma x

P.S. Remember that ballet show I mentioned at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma? I just got my hands on the program, and it turns out that this Wednesday, the 25th, it’s Swan Lake! That’s right, you heard me! Swan Lake on the stage of the Opera house, in the beautiful city of Rome! Can it get any more dreamy than that? Oh, to see Tchaikovsky's timeless masterpiece performed with the elegance of Roman grace, amidst the romantic glow of Italian lights! What an extraordinary treat! Now you can share my excitement!

P.P.S. Don’t forget to pop back tomorrow for my first-ever ballet class in Rome and watch this space for the exciting news about how to be in with a chance to win a Pink Tutu Roma Bundle! More details to come… but be warned, my dear shoppers, it's going to be a beauty! 😉

Ciao!
