Pink Tutu Rome: #1034 - Roman Holiday! (2015-04-01)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu blog post, straight from the heart of... wait for it... Rome! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

You know how I love a good adventure, and this week I'm taking you on a journey through the ancient city of Rome, a place buzzing with history, culture, and oh, so much style!

Now, I've been planning this trip for ages, dreaming of all the beautiful things I would see. You wouldn't believe how many stunning locations there are here that make my heart go "swoon!" from the awe-inspiring Colosseum to the whimsical Trevi Fountain, where I'll be tossing a coin in, wishing for more magical travels! (Spoiler alert, dear reader, it involves a very special pair of pink ballet shoes!)

The best part? I arrived by train! You all know how much I adore train journeys. It's just so romantic, watching the countryside blur by, listening to the rhythmic click-clack of the wheels. Makes me want to bust a move, maybe even a little pirouette or two! ๐Ÿฉฐ

I've been making the most of the time in Rome so far, soaking in all the wonderful sights and smells. I've even indulged in a little gelato โ€“ and who am I kidding, lots of it! After all, when in Rome... right?! ๐Ÿจ It's like my very own "Eat, Pray, Love" adventure, only replace the praying with dancing! ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Day 1: Fashion Finds & Artistic Inspiration

I arrived in the Eternal City late last night, and after a delightful sleep in my pink-tinted hotel room (it had the cutest balcony with a view of the Forum!), I awoke to the sounds of laughter and chatter and immediately hit the cobbled streets. I started in the charming Trastevere district, where I spent the morning exploring the bohemian shops and charming trattorias. I was lucky enough to spot the cutest pair of pink ballerina flats in a tiny vintage shop. And I've gotta tell you, theyโ€™re made for all the twirling and exploring I've been doing!

Later that day, I found myself wandering through the Galleria Borghese. You know, sometimes you stumble upon an incredible masterpiece that makes you feel utterly and completely connected to something so much bigger than yourself. I found just that, an utterly stunning piece of art - "Apollo and Daphne" by Bernini. ๐ŸŽจ

It was the perfect reminder to let my creative side soar โ€“ it felt so inspiring. So many talented souls walked these same paths long before us, it's a truly humbling and moving experience. Plus, you all know I can never resist a good pose in front of a masterpiece, so of course, I captured the moment! (For those who follow me on Insta, it's live now!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Day 2: Stepping onto the Stage

My dear reader, did I mention that this trip is not just for sightseeing and shopping?! No, dear reader, it's much more than that. You see, there's a secret gem waiting in the heart of Rome. One that only those truly passionate about ballet will know! Tonight, I am performing in a special ballet street performance right outside the Roman Forum!

There's something deeply captivating about dancing beneath the ancient stars, knowing that thousands of years of history have flowed through the same streets. Tonight, I will be twirling in my specially designed pink tutu โ€“ yes, you guessed it! A delicate shade of pink that I lovingly designed myself to complement the colors of the sunset and the marble of the Forum. And yes, darling, there is a touch of Roman history woven into its design โ€“ a whisper of ancient art, just for you!

Iโ€™ll be performing a specially-curated choreography inspired by the strength and beauty of the city. You can't imagine the exhilaration that comes with combining the romance of the Italian culture with the art form that I love most! The excitement for tonight's performance has been building inside me, a beautiful energy that I'm determined to channel into a magnificent dance.

And the best part, dear readers? I'll be filming it all! Be prepared for a special edition blog post soon filled with pictures and footage from my night in Rome. ๐Ÿคซ

Day 3: Shopping for the Soul

And just like that, the magic of Italy seeped into every single thing I touched! I mean, the city really is an incredible muse, don't you think?! Thatโ€™s why, I've already begun brainstorming the design of a brand new, very special Pink Tutu line! Inspired by the exquisite craftsmanship, the historical heritage and the undeniable elegance I see here, the "Roman Pink Tutu" is going to be something incredible. Think soft hues of pink inspired by sunset over the ancient Forum, shimmering accents echoing the glitter of the Trevi Fountain, and delicate embroidery inspired by Roman history โ€“ a collection made to capture the soul of Rome.

As I walk the cobblestone streets, each step whispers inspiration. From the perfectly curated window displays to the timeless vintage boutiques, there's a hidden story to every piece of clothing and every design.

Today, I was drawn to a quirky little antique shop, filled with whimsical finds from all corners of the world. Imagine, darling, my delight when I stumbled across a beautifully beaded vintage fan! The kind you'd see on the stage during an old-fashioned ballet performance, with the softest floral pattern in a palette of pinks. Imagine twirling under the Italian sun with a soft rustle of feathers, while holding a gorgeous fan! (Imagine how well this would pair with my Roman Pink Tutu, just saying! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

The afternoon saw me lost in the charming boutiques and markets around Campo deโ€™ Fiori. Here, amidst the scent of herbs and the bright colours of fruit stalls, I found a little corner of heaven. A tailor with a twinkle in his eye offered to create the most beautiful handmade pink gloves. Can you even imagine?! (Pink gloves and my brand new pink ballet flats? What more could a girl ask for?!)

Dinner Under the Roman Sky

After a whirlwind of shopping adventures, nothing feels quite as luxurious as a long, elegant dinner with a beautiful view. Today, I found myself at the Ristorante Aroma, just off the famous Piazza Navona. Here, I indulged in a feast for my senses: a vibrant symphony of flavors, the enchanting music of the night, and an unparalleled view of the Pantheon โ€“ it's a must-visit, darlings, I cannot recommend it enough!

As I sit here with a glass of Tuscan wine, soaking in the beauty of Rome, Iโ€™m reminded that thereโ€™s more to life than ballet, although it does happen to be a big part of my heart. Life is about experiences. The kind that open up your world, ignite your spirit, and fill your days with happiness. And darling, Rome, you are most certainly giving me all that!

But even as I embrace all that Italy has to offer, there's one thing I won't be leaving behind. I am, after all, Emma the Pink Tutu, a believer in the power of joy, beauty, and a sprinkle of magic, even in the heart of a bustling city like Rome.

So join me next Wednesday as we explore the rest of Rome, where the possibilities for Pink Tutu Adventures are truly limitless. Until then, darling, keep twirling! ๐Ÿ’–
