Pink Tutu Rome: #1035 - A Dance Through The Eternal City!
Ciao bella! Emma here, reporting live from the cobbled streets of Rome, and let me tell you, my dear readers, it's absolutely breathtaking! This week I've swapped the Derbyshire hills for the Italian capital, and the air here is buzzing with history, culture, and oh, the fashion!
As you all know, I believe that life is simply more fun when you twirl in a pink tutu! It’s my mission to get everyone embracing their inner ballerina. So, of course, a trip to Rome wasn’t complete without a full tutu-fied exploration of the city. This week's theme is pink tutus, Ancient Rome, and the beautiful architecture that the city has to offer. Think Trevi Fountain in pink tulle, Colosseum in cotton candy pink, and a vibrant pink tutu amongst the classic Roman streets.
The journey to Rome was a true delight. I am a firm believer that train travel is the most elegant way to explore new places. Snuggled up with a good book (this week I am reading 'The Little Prince,' in honour of Rome's fairy tale charm) and a cup of Italian espresso, I was transported into a world of historical grandeur. The journey is always an adventure, offering picturesque views that just beg to be photographed, with my pink tutu naturally as the centrepiece of my snaps.
Rome has a magnetic energy. As I stepped onto the platform, the scent of freshly baked bread and the bustling streetlife immediately transported me to a different world. I practically skipped off the train in excitement, my pink tutu swirling with each step, as I embraced the infectious Roman spirit. My camera was clicking non-stop, capturing the vibrant energy of this iconic city. The Italian flair, the laughter in the cafes, the charming Roman piazzas, all make Rome such a delightful city.
Rome, Where Fashion Meets History
You know I can’t resist a shopping spree, and let me tell you, the boutiques in Rome are something else. It was time for some serious fashion therapy, after all, you can’t twirl properly in Rome without the perfect ensemble. A stunning pink feather boa from a little shop near the Spanish Steps added a touch of Roman glamour to my outfit. My vintage pink clutch (you all know my penchant for vintage finds!), found its perfect setting amidst the classic architecture of this historical city. I snagged a couple of chic silk scarves to add a bit of vibrant pink colour to my travelling wardrobe. It's amazing how effortlessly a touch of pink transforms even the simplest of outfits, right?
Pink Tutu and Roman Colosseum: A Perfect Pairing
The Colosseum was an experience that left me speechless. As I gazed at this historical masterpiece, it felt as if the echoes of Roman gladiators' battles still reverberated within the crumbling walls. The vastness of this ancient monument, a testament to the grandeur of a lost empire, had me completely mesmerised. With my pink tutu swishing behind me, I couldn’t help but envision Roman chariot races and dramatic stage performances, conjuring up an imaginary ballet under the vast Colosseum sky, performed with a pink tulle flourish of course!
Ballet and Bella Italia
The Italian ballet scene is rich with artistry and tradition. Tonight I’m going to see a show at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma - you know me, I can’t miss a ballet performance when I’m on my travels. It's a delightful opportunity to immerse myself in a cultural extravaganza of elegance and artistry. I’m dreaming of elaborate costumes, breathtaking choreography, and the beautiful melody of classical music – all enhanced by a generous dose of pink!
Rome - A Symphony of Flavours
No trip to Italy is complete without experiencing its culinary delights! I spent the afternoon indulging in the flavours of Italy - sipping a steaming cappuccino and nibbling on a warm panettone, accompanied by an indulgent gelato topped with fresh fruit. It’s these small, simple moments that truly make me appreciate the beauty of this beautiful city.
Trevi Fountain and a Pink Tutu Wish
Rome would be incomplete without a trip to the famous Trevi Fountain. This beautiful marble masterpiece, a symbol of eternal beauty and Roman splendor, captured my imagination. With a pink tulle twirl and a fervent wish, I tossed a coin into the fountain for good luck. It was like something out of a dream, this beautiful pink tulle ballerina at the heart of such an iconic Roman monument, a scene begging to be painted by an impressionistic artist. I’m dreaming of one day returning to this magnificent city. The Colosseum is truly inspiring for its impressive scale and design. I hope I’m back again soon, pink tulle in tow, ready for a new Roman adventure!
