Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1067

Hello lovelies!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! 💅🩰 This week, I'm taking you all on a whirlwind tour of the Eternal City, all decked out in my favourite pink tutu, naturally. And let me tell you, it's been a truly magical journey!

Before I start telling you all about my adventures, a little heads-up for all my Derbyshire lovelies. I'll be performing a special Pink Tutu ballet performance at the Buxton Opera House on the 15th December. So if you fancy catching me twirling in my pink glory, get those tickets booked! 😉

Back to Rome. Now, my darling readers, as some of you know, I adore a good train journey, so of course, the first thing I did when I arrived was jump aboard the Roma Termini for a spin around the city. Did you know, Rome is actually one of the largest and oldest cities in Europe? I just can't believe how much history and culture is crammed into every cobbled street!

My first stop was a visit to the Colosseum, a true architectural masterpiece that still makes my jaw drop even after seeing it in all those films! I can't even imagine the gladiatorial combat that took place there centuries ago. Imagine a show that would bring the entire city to a standstill... now that's what I call true performance art! ⚔️💪

Speaking of performances, I couldn't resist slipping into my Pink Tutu (of course) and finding the nearest stage! I found a delightful little street theatre performance in the heart of Trastevere. These talented performers, all dressed in dazzling costumes and painted in dramatic makeup, were truly a sight to behold!

The performers' vibrant expressions and heartfelt storytelling resonated with the audience. Seeing this theatrical display with so much emotion was a poignant reminder that performance art truly transcends language and unites everyone under the magic of storytelling. The laughter, gasps, and heartfelt applause from the crowd brought back warm memories of the audiences I have enthralled over the years with my ballet performances. Oh, to think of all the people who I have met through the magical world of ballet! 🩰

Later that day, I found myself in a bustling, fashion-forward atmosphere at Piazza di Spagna, which I had to visit because everyone says the fashion scene there is brilliant! A dazzling array of shops displayed the latest in fashion trends and all those gorgeous Italian designs.

What was a girl to do but to go on a mini shopping spree? I felt it was a must, really! Imagine the photos I could post to Pink Tutu! It’s been an amazing week discovering new brands and finding outfits that screamed ‘Emma the Pink Tutu Ballerina!’

Speaking of pink tutus, can I just say that the food scene in Rome has me totally smitten! I mean, Italian food... need I say more? 🍕 It’s the ultimate comfort food! There was this little Italian restaurant nestled near the Colosseum, called Il Sostanza. It's a truly special place - they use only fresh, local ingredients. Every mouthful felt like pure bliss! I just had to take a pic of myself with my ‘Pink Tutu’ pizza for the gram, and honestly, every mouthful was pure heaven! Oh my, I must remember to add that to my list of ‘Top Food Moments’.

Did you know Rome's also a place for romance? This romantic city's historical charm can't help but sweep you off your feet. In between taking those wonderful pink tutu photos, I snuck off on a lovely, scenic gondola ride down the River Tiber.

Can I tell you how utterly charming the whole city feels? I can picture myself in a scene of ‘The Princess Diaries’ film! If my favourite Pink Tutu looked glamorous with a simple hair scrunchie, you just have to imagine the potential of a beautiful gondola ride!

And speaking of romantic stories... the one thing I love more than twirling in my pink tutu, you guys? You guessed it! Seeing amazing ballet shows! I got the chance to watch an unbelievable performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, one of the biggest and oldest opera houses in all of Italy. Imagine me, standing in my pink tutu watching a magical, ethereal performance. Now that's an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime!

I couldn't leave Italy without taking a slice of the delicious Italian magic back home with me. I was wandering through the historic Campo de' Fiori market, the place that seems to buzz with all the scents and colours of Rome itself, when I found these absolutely adorable pink ballet shoes. They matched my pink tutu perfectly! I don't know what it is about a beautiful pink tutu and shoes, but I can't resist it. They’ll be the perfect addition to my ever-growing Pink Tutu collection!

One last thought before I sign off. As a proud ballet dancer and a travel lover, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the combination of ballet and travel makes my heart soar! Seeing amazing ballet performances in some of the most awe-inspiring places in the world makes me want to keep exploring and spreading the love for dance! There are just so many breathtaking sights to experience around the world, all within reach of my ballet shoes.

What I love most is to bring everyone together with a shared appreciation for beauty and joy. So, go ahead, embrace your inner ballerina, find your own Pink Tutu, and start your journey! Don't forget to share your adventures with me, my lovely readers.

Until next week, stay sassy, keep twirling, and most importantly, don't be afraid to stand out and shine in your very own Pink Tutu!

Ciao bella! 💖
