Pink Tutu Rome #1066: Ciao Bella!
Wednesday, 11th November 2015
Ciao, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, checking in from the Eternal City itself: Rome! Can you believe it? This gorgeous city has been calling to me for ages and I'm finally here! The train journey from Derbyshire was a dream - I settled into a comfy carriage, my tutu nestled next to me (it always travels first-class, naturally!), and enjoyed the stunning views zipping past.
This week, as usual, we're taking a little detour from the usual dance class and performances that make up my life (did I mention I'm funding my travels with my ballet gigs? Talk about turning pirouettes into pennies!), and heading straight into the heart of Roman culture. I've been dreaming of strolling down cobbled streets, marvelling at ancient ruins, sipping espresso at pavement cafes, and, of course, indulging in some seriously stylish shopping.
Now, I'm not one for hiding my love for all things pink. Pink is, after all, my favourite colour. It radiates happiness, warmth, and just a touch of whimsy. So, naturally, my luggage was bursting with all the shades of pink you can imagine. From my delicate blush-toned blouse to my hot pink, sequin-covered tutu (which will undoubtedly make a few heads turn!), I'm ready to embrace Rome in a shower of pink!
But, darling, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Rome adventure without a touch of theatre. So, today we're heading straight to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for an enchanting ballet performance of Romeo and Juliet. The chance to experience a ballet production in such a historic setting is simply divine, and I can already picture myself transported to another time, enveloped in the magic of the performance.
The streets of Rome are whispering secrets of ancient empires, artistic masterpieces, and passionate stories. Each cobblestone tells a tale of romance and intrigue, and I can't wait to delve into this magnificent city, uncovering its hidden treasures. I'm imagining romantic evenings with candlelit dinners under the Tuscan moon, tours through stunning museums brimming with Renaissance masterpieces, and strolling past fountains bursting with life, all while wearing my oh-so-perfect, fluffy pink tutu, of course!
But before we set off on our adventure, darling, a quick reminder: it's Wednesday, and you know what that means! Time to dust off your own tutu (it doesn't have to be pink, but let's be real, pink just makes it better!) and let your inner ballerina shine! Remember, we are all pink tutu girls at heart, with dreams that are as grand as the Colosseum and as intricate as the most delicate ballet step.
Follow along with me this week, darling, and I'll share all the beautiful discoveries and stylish adventures of my Roman escapade! Until then, remember to keep it pink, keep it twirly, and always believe in the power of a perfect pirouette!
Ciao for now, Emma xoxo
Later that evening:
Well, darling, Rome certainly didn't disappoint! Romeo and Juliet was a stunning spectacle. I have to admit, the dance was so emotive that even I, the ever-optimistic pink tutu ballerina, shed a tear or two. But afterwards, we were lucky enough to be invited backstage! And that's when I got the best idea…
A whole section of the ballet dancers were wearing pink tutus! It's like a symphony of pink fluff! We're talking delicate pink tutus, bold hot pink tutus, and even a couple of neon pink tutus (can you believe it?!). The energy was electrifying - a mix of nervous anticipation and excited chatter. I, of course, could resist blending in.
The director was very encouraging and we shared a wonderful chat. He actually complimented my "bright, delightful" style and seemed really keen on collaboration between our two worlds, the ballet world and the world of...Pink Tutu Bloggers? Who knew, darling? Who knew? I'm still letting it sink in. Maybe the next Pink Tutu Rome post will be about our joint ballet extravaganza! It's exciting just thinking about it.
Before I leave you for the night, a little tidbit: tonight’s performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is a must-see for any fashion enthusiast! A special “Fashion in Opera” show. And, guess what? The director let me slip a little surprise into it. A surprise that just might make a statement for everyone, but I'll keep that a secret until we see it on the stage! Just imagine, darling: pink tutu’s and Opera costumes in a vibrant kaleidoscope of movement. Can you say "wow!"?
Time to slip into my extra-sparkly pink nightgown for a dream filled with pirouettes and…opera costumes! Don’t forget to catch me on Pink-Tutu.com next Wednesday, for another amazing adventure.
Stay fabulous!
Emma xoxo
