Pink Tutu Rome: #1080 - La Dolce Vita in a Tutu!
Ciao bella! It's your girl Emma here, fresh off the train and back in Rome! 🚂 I'm just thrilled to be back in this beautiful city for a week of fashion, fun, and maybe even some ballet… after all, it is the home of the Rome Opera House! 🩰
You'll find me posting my Italian adventures every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com, so buckle up buttercup! This week, I'm all about Rome's charming streets, incredible architecture, and a wardrobe that could make a flamingo blush! 🦩
Wednesday 2016-02-17:
So, today was all about settling in and letting the magic of Rome wash over me. I've been dreaming of Rome for months now. You guys know how I love exploring new cultures, and this city is dripping in history! From the ancient Roman ruins to the stunning Renaissance masterpieces, it's a visual feast! And did I mention the food?! 😋
My train journey from Derbyshire was surprisingly peaceful. I even managed to squeeze in a ballet session on the platform, with some seriously impressed fellow travellers. My favourite part though was definitely the gorgeous views across the English countryside. I have to admit though, nothing beats that first bite of freshly baked bread straight from the boulangerie… yum!
I've decided to stay in this charming little B&B in Trastevere, right in the heart of Rome. It's absolutely delightful, with a tiny little balcony draped in twinkling lights, and the sweetest old lady owner who seems to have a magical touch when it comes to pasta! Tonight, I'm going to explore the vibrant Trastevere streets, a place brimming with local life and authentic Roman pizzerias. 🍕 I’ll probably be tucking into some mouthwatering spaghetti alla gricia tonight. 🍝 I already know, that my love of pink is going to stand out against this picturesque backdrop - just wait and see!
Speaking of pink, have you seen the gorgeous Valentino Boutique on Via Condotti? I think I just found a new life purpose - convincing them to design a pink tutu, especially for me! 😉 But you’ll have to wait for more on that in a later post! You know I like to keep you guys on your toes! 😉
Tomorrow, I’m going to conquer the Colosseum, followed by a trip to the Pantheon. Maybe, just maybe, I can pull off a performance in the piazza, just like the gladiators did in the Roman Forum, in front of those incredible ancient temples. What do you think? Would a pink tutu go well with marble? 😂
That’s all for tonight, my darlings! I'm off to soak up the atmosphere and let the Italian night breeze blow through my tutu. Be sure to check back next week, where I’ll be exploring Rome’s legendary food scene and sharing my absolute must-do’s.
Arrivederci, beautiful people! 😘
Emma xx
