Well, darlings, here I am! Rome, the Eternal City, the City of Seven Hills, the City of Love... the City of Pink Tutu!
Yes, you read that right, my fabulous friends, your favourite tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, fashionista has touched down in Italy. After all those dreamy train journeys across Europe (first class, of course - a pink tutu deserves comfort!), here I am, surrounded by ancient ruins, beautiful piazzas and, most importantly, a whole load of fantastic shopping!
It's Wednesday, the 12th of April 2017, and it's already shaping up to be a sensational day. I've just arrived at my beautiful little hotel near the Trevi Fountain. Now, if you know anything about me, you'll know I'm obsessed with finding the perfect location! My room has a balcony overlooking the rooftops, and it's the perfect spot to start planning my week in Rome.
First things first, a little shopping therapy! The Via Condotti is just a hop, skip, and a twirl away, and my head is already spinning with visions of all the stunning outfits I can create to complement my ever-growing tutu collection! This trip is all about exploring the magic of Italian fashion and, of course, seeing how well a pink tutu can handle cobblestone streets and gelato stains!
Speaking of gelato, it wouldn't be a trip to Rome without sampling all those incredible flavours! Today, after some serious window-shopping, I'll be heading to the heart of the Trastevere neighbourhood, a bohemian haven bursting with personality. They say you haven't truly experienced Rome until you've had gelato on a moonlit evening under the twinkle of a Roman sky, and I'm all for that!
Later, it's on to the Pantheon, the iconic structure with its magnificent dome, which has been inspiring artists and architects for centuries. It's a breathtaking example of Roman ingenuity and it's definitely worth a twirl!
You know me, I always like to sprinkle in a bit of ballet, so in the evening, I'll be taking a trip to Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world! It's going to be a feast for the eyes and ears! And who knows, maybe I'll even spot a fellow tutu enthusiast in the crowd!
Of course, my entire adventure is funded by the grace of the stage, by the pure joy I get from sharing my passion with you all! So don't worry, I'll be bringing you lots of backstage secrets and sharing my favourite moments from my performances. There's just something magical about the energy of an audience! And maybe, just maybe, some of you will be inspired to wear your own pink tutu... because as my dear Grandma always used to say, "A little pink can brighten anyone's day!"
