Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma from Pink Tutu here, back from another exciting adventure! Today I'm bringing you sunshine and dolce vita vibes all the way from Rome, Italy!
Can you believe it's been a whole year since my last Italian escapade? It feels like just yesterday I was pirouette-ing through the cobbled streets of Florence, marveling at the Renaissance masterpieces and scoffing down creamy gelato. But this time, it's the Eternal City that beckons, and my pink tutu is practically bouncing with excitement!
It's been a whirlwind few weeks. Back in Derbyshire, I had a brilliant season of performances. The ballet world just feels like home, and dancing for everyone brings me so much joy. I've got a whole suitcase packed with new outfits that I absolutely can't wait to show you - I may even have to do a special pink tutu haul post when I get back!
I decided to travel by train again this time. Something about those grand European stations fills me with wanderlust and the promise of adventure! You can bet your bottom dollar I took a picture with my little tutu suitcase – a must for every ballet traveller. Plus, I managed to sneak a few extra sequins onto the train's overhead luggage rack – just to add a bit of pink sparkle to the journey, of course! 😉
The Colosseum, A Big Dance, and Divine Gelato
Now, who’s ready for a full day in Rome?! My very first stop? The Colosseum, of course. What better place to soak in the history and imagine gladiators battling it out than wearing my favourite bright pink tutu, topped with a dazzling emerald green head scarf? (You guys already know my style! Always a statement piece, always with a touch of the unexpected).
After all that walking and sightseeing, my feet were definitely ready for a bit of Ballet Relief! Tonight, I'm seeing the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet at the Teatro dell'Opera. Imagine, watching these magnificent dancers soar through the air as I sit in one of the world's most beautiful opera houses! It’s a dream come true, and I just know it's going to be the perfect night.
Foodie Fun & Fashion Finds
No trip to Italy is complete without indulging in all the deliciousness it has to offer. Today's culinary highlight was undoubtedly that amazing pizza at a tiny family-run trattoria down a narrow side street. It was the kind of pizza you can only dream about back home: thin crispy base, juicy tomatoes, oozing mozzarella... swoon
The food is divine, the architecture breathtaking, and I'm feeling super inspired for my latest pink tutu fashion finds. I just had to snag this darling floral-print scarf, just a tiny touch of Italian whimsy. Of course, it comes in pink and is perfectly coordinated with my travel tutu. And did I mention, it's handmade? A truly unique treasure I’m adding to my collection!
The Heart of Rome Beats Pink
This week in Rome, I'm living the pink tutu life to the fullest. I've already had a go at tossing coins in the Trevi Fountain and whispering my travel wishes (it has to be in a tutu, obviously!) I even managed to find an adorable little bakery that makes pink rose macarons – talk about a perfect treat after a long day of exploring!
Everywhere I go, I'm spreading a bit of pink tutu magic. The streets are a visual feast with gorgeous pastel buildings, flower markets overflowing with vibrant colours, and everyone from street performers to Roman mothers pushing strollers embrace their own sense of style. I feel at home here!
As the sun dips below the horizon and casts a soft, pink glow over the ancient buildings, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and magic of Rome. This city pulsates with history and culture, and my heart is completely in sync with its rhythms.
But don't worry, darlings, I'm just getting started. Next week, I'll be bringing you more pink tutu adventures – from hidden trattorias to secret gardens to a surprise ballet performance that will leave you gasping for breath.
