It's Emma here, reporting live from the Eternal City! As you know, my dear pink tutu-loving friends, I’ve always dreamed of coming to Rome, and thanks to a few ballet performances in Derbyshire and a whole lotta dreaming, it's finally happening!
The train journey here was truly magical, winding through the Tuscan countryside, past vineyards bathed in sunshine, and rolling hills sprinkled with sunflowers. I’m all about the romanticism of travelling by train. There’s just something so wonderful about watching the scenery flit by as I curl up with a good book, daydreaming about the adventures that await.
And what adventures they are! Rome, you’ve already stolen my heart.
Right from stepping off the train, the vibrant energy of the city pulsed through me like a thrilling melody. There were the familiar sounds of Italy – a flurry of chatter in Italian, laughter bouncing off the terracotta buildings, the tinkling of an ice-cream cart. I even heard someone whistling a merry little tune – what could be more delightful?
Now, I'm not gonna lie, the sheer quantity of amazing food is definitely something to write home about! I've been gorging myself on the most delicious pasta dishes, and those pizza slices - mamma mia! And don’t even get me started on the gelato. I've lost count of the number of scoops I’ve devoured – and honestly, I have no regrets. It’s been a delicious dream come true.
But beyond the food, Rome has truly surpassed my expectations. Walking down the ancient streets feels like stepping back in time – a breathtaking combination of historical marvels and vibrant modern life.
Today, I went on an enchanting adventure through the heart of Rome, following my nose down cobblestone alleys lined with quaint cafes, ancient buildings, and charming boutiques, each one bursting with beautiful pieces of Italian style. The fashion here is just divine, from the gorgeous linen fabrics to the simple elegance of classic Roman style – the whole vibe is one of sophistication and charm.
Of course, I couldn’t resist the call of the boutiques. Imagine, my lovelies, racks upon racks of beautifully draped fabrics, delicate laces, and the most fabulous handbags. The perfect accessories to a pink tutu! I simply had to add a few treasures to my collection. A little indulgence, you know?
Tonight, however, I’ll be savouring the true magic of Rome: opera. Imagine, dear friends, the magnificent voices soaring through the ancient Roman theatre. I’m already feeling the goosebumps! It’s just the perfect culmination of a day exploring the beauty of this remarkable city.

I’m off now to catch a glimpse of the Colosseum bathed in the golden light of sunset. And perhaps, after all the day's excitement, I might just find myself indulging in a glass of Italian wine… and a scoop of gelato, of course!
