Pink Tutu Rome: Post 1163 - Exploring the Eternal City!

Wednesday, 20th September 2017

Ciao bella! This week’s Pink Tutu adventures are taking us to the magnificent city of Rome. I’ve always dreamt of visiting the Eternal City and I'm thrilled to finally be here! From the Colosseum to the Trevi Fountain, Rome is packed with history and culture – just waiting to be explored!

Of course, I couldn't come all this way without my trusty pink tutu! It was a tad chilly this morning, but who says tutus are only for summer? I paired mine with a soft pink cashmere jumper and a chunky black cardigan - it’s all about creating a stylish and comfy look.

And wouldn’t you know it, just as I was getting off the train from Derbyshire (how much do I love train journeys?), I bumped into another tutu enthusiast! She was sporting a gorgeous sparkly, turquoise tutu and a wide-brimmed hat. We instantly clicked, exchanging fashion tips and posing for photos – proving once again that tutus unite all!

A Day at the Colosseum: Where History Comes Alive

My first stop was the awe-inspiring Colosseum. Seeing it in person is something else altogether! It's truly a testament to the power of the Roman Empire. You can almost imagine the gladiators battling it out, the crowds cheering, and the roar of the lions!

While I was exploring, I spotted a charming little café with a fantastic selection of pastries and coffee. Naturally, I went for a pink pastry! I just love finding cute cafés and sampling local delicacies - it's all part of the Pink Tutu experience!

Tutus, Trevi and Tremendous Treasures

Next on the itinerary, the Trevi Fountain – and you simply can’t leave without tossing a coin into its depths! Legend has it that if you throw a coin with your back to the fountain, you’re guaranteed to return to Rome one day. Naturally, I obliged and even took a couple of spins for good measure!

It was a bit of a mad rush, but I managed to squeeze in some fabulous shopping at one of the many charming boutiques near the fountain. It’s not every day you find a genuine leather pink tutu bag! Let’s just say it found its way back to Derbyshire with me.

Ballet by Night: The Magic of Teatro dell'Opera

No trip to Rome is complete without an evening at the Teatro dell'Opera! They're famous for their breathtaking ballets and performances – and I wasn't going to miss out! The night was pure magic! The performers were truly brilliant, and the intricate costumes and sets were just spectacular.

After the show, I felt a little peckish, so I wandered into a cozy Italian trattoria with the most amazing aroma of fresh pasta wafting through the air. Needless to say, I sampled a few dishes – and they were divine! The tiramisu, though, was a real winner. I just can’t get enough of these delectable desserts!

Rome in My Pink Tutu – A City for Everyone!

Overall, my first day in Rome has been a complete delight! It's a vibrant city brimming with history, culture and, most importantly, a touch of Pink Tutu magic! Whether you’re a history buff, a fashionista or a hopeless romantic, this city has something for everyone. So if you're ever thinking of taking a trip, I say… do it!

And of course, what would a trip to Rome be without sharing some amazing Pink Tutu pictures! Catch my Roman adventures on my social media feeds this week - I’ll be posting photos of the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and my ballet escapades!

I hope you’ve enjoyed following my adventures in Rome! Be sure to check back next Wednesday for more Pink Tutu tales!

Until then, ciao bella!

Love and pink tutus,

Emma
