Welcome back to another week of Pink Tutu travel adventures! This Wednesday, I'm writing to you from the Eternal City, Rome, where I've spent the past few days soaking up the sunshine and the sheer beauty of this incredible city. This week has been a whirlwind of fashion, food, and fabulousness – so, grab a glass of Prosecco (or a lovely cuppa!), and get ready for another installment of your weekly dose of Pink Tutu fun.
A Girl's Gotta Get Her Groove On!
My journey started, as always, on the train, my faithful pink tutu travelling alongside me in my carry-on suitcase. Arriving at Rome Termini, I felt a surge of excitement that only a seasoned traveller could appreciate. It's just so much more fun travelling by train – you get to meet people, enjoy the scenery, and the occasional cuppa always goes down a treat! I’m so proud to say I manage to fund my travel escapades through my passion for ballet – from stunning performances at local theatres to showcasing my own creations in vibrant street performances. You’ve got to find ways to make your dreams happen!
Fashion is Everything!
No trip to Rome is complete without indulging in a little fashion therapy! And let’s be honest, dear readers, it’s a sin to visit such a chic and stylish city without going a little shopping crazy! My trusty pink tutu and I explored the stylish boutiques of Via Condotti, picking up a stunning pair of rose-gold earrings with a delicate ballet-inspired design (you’ve gotta be a little quirky, darlings!), and some exquisite silk scarves with bold floral prints. There’s something magical about finding that perfect accessory that speaks to your heart and adds a touch of “je ne sais quoi” to your look!
Rome’s Hidden Gems
However, I wanted to discover more than just the usual tourist hotspots. So, I ventured into the charming, narrow cobblestone streets of Trastevere, where the air buzzed with laughter and the aroma of freshly-baked pizza. I spotted the cutest little boutique hidden away in a small square, called "Il Tutu Rosa", - a tiny little gem where the owner’s passionate about everything pink and tutu! Imagine my delight! Not only did she help me create a unique tutu with intricate beadwork and stunning floral patterns, but we spent the afternoon sipping limoncello, talking about everything from fashion and travel to our shared love of the colour pink and the magic of tutus. Now, if that’s not an amazing memory in the making, I don’t know what is!
Oh, The Romance!
Valentine's Day in Rome – what more could a girl ask for? My dear friend Amelia and I dined under the twinkling lights of a quaint trattoria, sipping on chilled white wine, and devouring mouthwatering pasta dishes while discussing our adventures. There's something so romantic about spending this special day in a city where love is written in the cobblestone streets, and whispered in the soft breeze. It's truly inspiring to witness the Italian passion for love and life.
Tutus, Travels, and Theatre
As for theatre, I discovered a gem - Teatro Argentina – where a captivating performance of "La Traviata" filled my heart with music and emotion. The soaring voices, the breathtaking costumes, the captivating story - I was completely mesmerized, and I can't think of a more fitting way to celebrate this romantic city and the beautiful day of love.
