Welcome back to my weekly slice of pink-tinted paradise here on Pink Tutu Rome, where we're exploring the Eternal City, one tulle-filled adventure at a time! This week, I'm taking you with me on a journey through cobbled streets and hidden piazzas, a day brimming with the very best that Rome has to offer - and, of course, plenty of pink, fabulous fashion, and ballet, because how could it be any other way?
Today, we're celebrating all things beautiful and chic! Now, you all know I have a penchant for train travel. There's just something about the romantic whiff of engine smoke, the clattering rhythm of the tracks, and the excitement of arriving in a new destination - all perfectly complemented, of course, by a stunning pink tutu, preferably one with shimmering sequins and a generous amount of tulle. And, what's even better than a train ride? A train ride straight to the heart of the eternal city!
Stepping off the train at Roma Termini, I felt that familiar tingle of excitement – this city is pure magic. It's as if every corner holds a secret waiting to be discovered, every cobblestone street whispers a story of the past.
Rome: A City for Every Tutus!
The streets of Rome are just calling out to be explored in style. So naturally, I decided to go all out. We're talking a dreamy pink tutu with hand-stitched details, topped off with a statement floral blouse (because the pink just needed a little bit of floral flair) and, naturally, some trusty, sparkly ballet flats that are comfortable enough for all the walking - oh, and of course a pink handbag, to add a dash of glamour to every ensemble. It's my philosophy: you can't go wrong with a touch of pink. After all, why let the sunshine have all the fun?
From Ballet to Piazza Navona: A Romantic Day
My first stop, you might be thinking? A ballet class, naturally! Now, Rome has this incredible little studio called 'Danza Romana' hidden in the heart of Trastevere. This charming studio had everything: mirrors, barre work, and a sense of community that made me feel instantly at home. And, if you can believe it, there was another Pink Tutu dancer there, we'd never met, but just started giggling the moment our eyes met! You know, kindred spirits, the kind who are bound to bond over a shared love for pirouettes and pink. It was just magic.
Of course, what's a visit to Rome without a trip to see the Trevi Fountain? This breathtaking masterpiece was just bursting with grandeur! And what did I do? I tossed in a coin, spun around three times (a little Pink Tutu twist), and wished for a future filled with more ballet, more tutus, and, of course, more travels! Who needs a boring wish when you can dream in pink?
And then there was the food. From the best tiramisu in the world to mouthwatering pasta dishes that had me licking my plate clean (and let's not forget the generous amount of delicious gelato that ended the day on a deliciously sweet note!), Rome truly spoiled my tastebuds. The city is like a delectable symphony of flavour – every bite an explosion of deliciousness.
Finding The Perfect Pink Tutu: A Roman Shopping Spree!
Naturally, a girl in a pink tutu just had to indulge in some serious shopping, didn't she? Luckily, Rome doesn't disappoint. The boutiques were filled with everything from sleek Italian handbags to statement earrings that would look sensational against a background of flowing pink tulle. I picked up some amazing pink and white floral print fabric - perfect for crafting the next dazzling tutu!
And of course, my favourite Roman memory is a visit to the Opera di Roma. I had the most divine time experiencing a performance of Verdi’s La Traviata. There were just so many layers of passion and grace. It's the perfect night out for a girl in a tutu!
Roman Pink Tutu Memories
The day came to an end just as quickly as it had begun, leaving me with memories as vibrant as the pink sunsets that paint the sky over Rome. The cobbled streets, the charming cafes, the majestic monuments, and the enchanting ballet studios, all contribute to the city's incredible magic.
