Pink Tutu Rome: Post 1214 ā€“ Wednesday 12th September 2018 ā€“ Ciao Bella Roma!

Buongiorno my lovelies! I hope you're all well, having a wonderful Wednesday. For me, this week itā€™s been all about exploring the stunning city of Rome!

You know how much I love travelling by train, it's just so romantic. I left Derbyshire this morning, my little pink suitcase (the one with the ballet shoes on it) overflowing with my most fabulous pink outfits. I feel completely at home when Iā€™m on a train - I always find time to get out my ballet journal and sketch new tutu designs. And of course, it wouldnā€™t be a proper Emma trip without a perfectly pink pink cupcake. Oh, and a pair of comfy pink slippers! Youā€™ve got to be prepared for those impromptu dancing opportunities.

My heart skipped a beat when I arrived at Termini Station - Rome is just SO vibrant, a chaotic tapestry of stunning architecture and buzzing energy. And guess what? There was even a cute little ballet studio right near the station! I didnā€™t resist popping in for a quick session with their amazing Italian teacher - you see, thereā€™s never a time or place that Iā€™ll pass up a chance for a ballet class.

First stop: sightseeing! The Colosseum is just awe-inspiring ā€“ its grandeur truly takes your breath away. The energy and history of the place were simply tangible, and as always I tried to picture the Roman gladiators and chariot races.

But you know me, my loves ā€“ thereā€™s never enough time to simply stare at the pretty buildings! After soaking up the Roman sunshine, I found myself in one of Romeā€™s amazing vintage clothing shops. And let me tell you, the outfits are AMAZING! Of course, they couldnā€™t resist adding a pink tulle petticoat to their stock. Donā€™t worry ā€“ itā€™s the first of many on its way. Iā€™m pretty sure theyā€™ve got a whole shop front makeover coming up, with me in charge of the pinkā€¦ you know how much I love helping to bring pink to the masses!

But no trip to Italy is complete without an exquisite meal ā€“ the pizza is incredible here! I chose a restaurant tucked away in a cobbled alleyway ā€“ the aroma of garlic, tomatoes and fresh basil was so tempting I simply couldnā€™t resist. It was the perfect pick-me-up for my little Pink Tutu Ballet Dancer, I promise!

The next morning I awoke to the chirping of birds, all around my quaint little hotel. Oh the joys of living the dream of being a full-time ballet dancer! Now you may be thinking, 'How on earth can Emma afford all this travel?' well darling, let me tell you! My life is more than just pink tutus and ballet performances, It's hard work and determination! You see I make a living as a freelance ballerina. That means I get to perform on stage, with many dance companies around the world. Every show I do is another step towards my life goals and yes thatā€™s to share my passion for ballet, dance and pink with the world. And trust me, being paid to wear a beautiful pink tutu just makes all the work worthwhile!

Then the next highlight of my trip ā€“ the Trevi Fountain! It was even more magnificent in person, and just as crowded! There are simply not enough pink tutus in the world ā€“ even a place like Rome is overwhelmed by the sea of people! Luckily, a handsome Roman boy who couldnā€™t resist my fabulous pink tutu came over for a chat ā€“ I know what youā€™re thinking, and yes I do enjoy talking to handsome boysā€¦ just as long as theyā€™re nice. Of course I showed him my latest ballet shoes!

Tonight, Iā€™m going to a stunning performance of ā€œSwan Lakeā€. Romeā€™s opera house is just so exquisite - they even have a spectacular pink chandelier ā€“ you know me, pink is simply irresistible.

Tomorrow I'm going to visit the Vatican, It's a UNESCO World Heritage site, so naturally itā€™s a big one on my ā€œmust-seeā€ list. You know how much I love discovering new cultures and of course the history is just mind-blowing. After all, it's the smallest country in the world, but has a population of just over 800,000, which I believe is the second most populous in the world after Monaco.

I have a feeling Iā€™m going to need another day in Rome to see it all ā€“ perhaps we could meet up next week at the Piazza Navona? Let me know!

P.S ā€“ if you love Rome and think pink ā€“ make sure to take a pink selfie by the Colosseum ā€“ share it with the hashtag #PinkTutuRome!

Love, Emma x
