Pink Tutu Rome: #1228 - La Dolce Vita in a Pink Tutu
Ciao Bella!
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu adventure, this time from the heart of Rome!
I’ve been dreaming of exploring the Eternal City for years. So much history, so much art, and, of course, so much fabulous fashion! And who better to navigate the cobbled streets and ancient ruins than a girl in a pink tutu?
It's been an incredible week! My journey started in Derbyshire, England, with the comforting familiarity of the train station. I do love the freedom of hopping on a train and heading to a new adventure! I made sure to pack a special pink tutu for this trip, a sparkling one with delicate roses adorning the tulle – a perfect choice for Roman flair.
The moment I arrived in Rome, I was whisked away by the vibrant energy of the city. It’s a sensory feast – the bustling markets, the delicious aromas of street food, the passionate chatter, and, of course, the stunning architecture! The Colosseum truly takes your breath away. It’s fascinating to imagine the gladiators and emperors who walked these grounds centuries ago. And speaking of emperors, I simply had to visit the Trevi Fountain, tossing a coin in the water for a future return, just as tradition dictates!
Speaking of tradition, did you know Rome has the most amazing ballet schools?! It's hard not to be inspired by the passionate art form. I found myself at the Scuola di Ballo di Roma for an afternoon of pliés and pirouettes. It was like dancing in a dream – the air filled with grace and rhythm. Let me tell you, those Roman ballerinas were on fire! Such technical skill, so much artistry – they gave me goosebumps! I picked up some valuable tips myself and can't wait to incorporate them into my own dancing.
After ballet, of course, there’s always time for a little shopping! I spent an afternoon at Via Condotti, a street known for its designer boutiques and high-end brands. My weakness? Anything sparkly. It’s simply irresistible. I treated myself to a gorgeous pair of pink ballerina flats, perfectly complementing my pink tutu. Who says you can’t be glamorous on cobbled streets?
Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a delicious meal. Pizza, pasta, gelato – oh my! The food here is divine, a real celebration of Italian culinary magic. The pasta dishes are out of this world – each mouthful is an explosion of flavor!
Tonight, I'm heading to a show at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma – a ballet production of Swan Lake! I’m particularly excited for this performance, I’ve been following the dancers, the choreography and the theatre – all the behind-the-scenes magic on social media, and it looks simply phenomenal. My Tutu is prepped, my outfit ready, I can’t wait to take in the beauty of ballet in this incredible city. You can be sure to catch a glimpse of my pink tutu (maybe on a photo on Instagram?)
I have a whole lot more planned for my Rome adventure! Stay tuned for more photos, fun stories, and even more pink tutu inspiration as I continue to explore this beautiful city!
