Pink Tutu Rome: Week 1231 - Bonjour, Bella Roma!

Hello, my darling tutu twirlers! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post! I'm currently nestled in the heart of this glorious city, and I'm absolutely besotted.

For this trip, I've been rocking a delightful cherry blossom pink tutu (it practically glows in the Roman sunshine!), and let me tell you, the stares I've received have been divine! This is my first trip to the Eternal City, and already I'm in love with its romantic charm, bustling streets, and – dare I say – delicious gelato (pink, of course!).

Speaking of deliciousness, let's talk about my journey here! Travelling by train is always a dream – I adore watching the world go by, lost in a good book or a captivating podcast. Plus, it allows me to fully immerse myself in the journey, which makes the arrival all the more special. My last performance at the Derbyshire Arts Centre was a resounding success (I think everyone was moved to tears by my rendition of “The Dying Swan”!) and I earned enough to book myself this little Italian escape. You know how I feel about a good show – I like to reward myself for hard work with a spot of travelling.

This Wednesday, my adventures have already started! This morning, I ventured into the Colosseum, and let me tell you, I was totally awestruck. Standing amongst those ancient stones, imagining the gladiatorial battles and emperors ruling from on high – it sent shivers down my spine! Of course, my trusty camera was there to capture it all. Just you wait, my dears – my Instagram feed is going to be ablaze with the wonders of Rome.

But before that, a quick wardrobe change! Rome has truly blown my mind with its fabulous shopping – from the designer boutiques in Via Condotti to the independent stores hidden away in cobbled alleyways, this city is a fashion haven. I snagged myself the most gorgeous pair of ruby red platform heels (which, of course, went perfectly with my pink tutu!), and I can’t wait to strut around Rome with my newfound elegance.

In the afternoon, I took a detour to Piazza Navona, its grand architecture and lively atmosphere just screaming for a pink tutu performance. So, naturally, I broke out some impromptu pirouettes! The other tourists cheered and applauded (they must have thought I was part of the show, right? ). I had such a laugh! It's the little things that make life in a pink tutu so fabulous!

Later this evening, I’ll be treating myself to a performance at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – what could be a better way to finish off my Roman adventure than with a captivating opera? Let me tell you, this pink tutu has been experiencing some real highs and lows this week, from the magnificent to the ridiculous! (Let's just say a mishap with some very wet pigeons during a romantic walk along the Tiber resulted in a slight pink tutu debacle... ). But the point is: life is about the journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Until next week, darling twirlers! Don’t forget to join me on Pink-Tutu.com every Wednesday for a fresh batch of Rome delights! Ciao for now!

Emma, xo

P.S. I’ve been taking lots of snaps of the most charming cafes, bakeries, and gelato stands. Rome has such a vibrant food scene – stay tuned for a delicious food-themed post next week! Don’t forget to keep twirling!
