#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella! A Pink-tastic Time in Rome! 🩰🇮🇹

#1246

Well, darlings, this little ballerina is back in Italy! After a whirlwind tour of the French Riviera (and some incredible ballet performances – but more on that in a later post!), I’ve landed in Rome for a week of fabulousness. Rome! The city of gladiators, the Colosseum, ancient history… and most importantly for a girl like me, shopping. The possibilities are truly endless, and I can already smell the delicious pastries and the sunshine – ah, la dolce vita!

And of course, you all know that means I'm ready to paint the town pink – or should I say pink tulle? 😜

As usual, I'm starting this adventure in a gorgeous new pink tutu (it has tiny sequined ballerinas dancing on it!), paired with a floaty silk blouse and some strappy pink sandals. Feeling perfectly put-together and ready to explore, I set off to the Termini Station, one of the grandest stations I've ever seen – it's like a Roman palace, honestly! It was worth taking the train for the sheer beauty of it all. Plus, you know I'm a sucker for travelling in style – and by that I mean being surrounded by luggage I can perfectly coordinate with my outfits!

The journey through the countryside was just stunning – lush greenery, rolling hills, ancient villages… swoon It really gets your creative juices flowing! The Italian landscape always inspires my next tutu creation! (Speaking of which, I'm thinking of doing a new collection based on the Renaissance... think bold velvet, sparkly silk, and a touch of medieval flair, darlings!).

Anyway, enough about the journey and on to the real reason we're all here: Rome! The city itself is just breathtaking! The history just jumps out at you – walking past the Colosseum and feeling the ghosts of gladiators is an incredible experience. And then there are all the beautiful piazzas, with fountains and statues, cobbled streets… perfection.

But even amidst all this architectural splendour, a girl has got to find time for a bit of shopping, right? 😉 I’ve already found the cutest little boutique hidden in a side street, full of whimsical accessories and dreamy scarves. The owner is an absolute darling – she’s given me some top tips on where to find the best vintage finds. Can’t wait to add a touch of Roman elegance to my wardrobe!

Tonight's plan is all about indulging my love of the dramatic. I've heard rumours of a beautiful ballet show being performed in the Piazza Navona, set under the starry sky – talk about romance! So, naturally, I'm wearing my most fabulous tutu, complete with a dramatic tulle skirt, for a touch of ballerina-inspired chic. Can you picture it? I will, of course, share all the details in my next post.

Rome, you have already stolen my heart! This is just the beginning, darlings, and I can already feel it – the magic is truly in the air. And, like I always say, you never know when inspiration for a new pink tutu will strike! 😉

Ciao for now,

Emma x

Tuesday Evening, Rome

#PinkTutuRome

It’s been a whirlwind of a day! I started my morning by taking a stroll through the beautiful Borghese Gallery and Gardens. The Gallery is full of incredible Renaissance art – think Michelangelo and Raphael. You know I love a bit of history, especially with such exquisite artistry to boot. The gardens are even more beautiful – lush greenery, fountains, statues… pure Italian charm!

Afterwards, I finally found myself a fantastic little café (it had a pink awning, how could I resist?!), and treated myself to a cup of cappuccino and a delicious Italian pastry. Oh, and, you’ll never guess what! It was all on my ‘To-do’ list for today. You might be wondering where I got such a detailed ‘To-do’ list?

Well, a friend in London gave me the best tip before I set off: get a real, honest to goodness Guide Book. It was the perfect solution! The guide book helped me map out every hidden gem – even a vintage jewellery shop (again, a touch of pink!) that only locals seem to know about. I love a bargain, and with the help of my new local guide (who also happened to know a few hidden Italian words to help me barter a little…), I managed to nab a beautiful hand-carved cameo necklace for a steal. You've simply *got to see it in the next blog, darlings. I can't wait for you to see what I’ve chosen!

The evening is looking amazing as well – it's time for a performance! This time it's a spectacular ballet show, right here in Rome! The performance is an outdoor one, set amidst the magnificent ancient ruins. I’ve heard it’s incredible and features an amazing set – perfect for Instagram (follow my account @pinktutuemma, if you’ve not already – please, darlings! 😉) .

To go with my chosen outfit (an entirely pink enchanted forest tutu, a vibrant green, flowy top, and my gorgeous, new cameo necklace), I’m having a lovely hair and makeup session with a gorgeous (did I mention she’s Italian? Naturally!), local beautician – she’s creating a lovely, natural, and glowing look for me. It’s so wonderful to feel so beautifully pampered! And honestly, when in Rome... or in any other fabulous city around the world, right? 😜

After all this, there’s one more special treat in store… drumroll ... a dinner at an amazing restaurant overlooking the Pantheon. The owner’s niece is a ballerina! Can you imagine! I have to befriend her and must learn the secrets to Roman dining! The perfect combination for a romantic and decadent Italian night out, wouldn’t you say? Oh, and I might have even convinced the owner to let me dance for them! Can’t resist a chance to inspire the crowd with a few graceful pirouettes – even if it’s just during a lovely Italian dinner!

Can you even believe how fabulous today's been? Honestly, it was made for a girl in a pink tutu. This trip just keeps getting better, darlings. The love for all things pink continues in Rome – from pink pastel houses and stunning vintage pink dresses to gorgeous rose gardens, I’m absolutely swimming in pink paradise!

Well, gotta jet off for now! But don’t worry, I’ll keep you updated on my Rome adventures.

Catch you all soon!

Wednesday Evening, Rome

#PinkTutuRome

Okay, you are just not going to believe what happened today, darlings! I found a shop on the Via del Corso, that’s only filled with pink tutus!

Can you even imagine? Pink tulle, sequins, every imaginable shade of pink and every type of design… and me standing in the middle of it all! My heart just about exploded. It was the most glorious pink overload, I nearly cried happy tears – especially after being assured I could wear it out! The shop owner even let me borrow one of her designs – she called it Rome Under The Stars, which I just knew was meant for tonight’s performance. The fabric has a delicate shimmer, and a constellation of silver stars, with matching pink shoes! It's going to be absolutely spectacular, darlings!

To make matters even more spectacular, I met up with a bunch of fellow tutuwearers outside the Colosseum! Yes, I'm serious! We talked about our favorite tutu styles, swapped fashion tips and generally had a fantastic time celebrating all things pink and frilly – honestly, you’d think we were all in the midst of some magical ballet event! And then, to add a touch of fun to the festivities, I pulled out some fabulous face glitter – pink, of course! I can’t wait for you all to see it in my next Instagram update.

We spent the rest of the afternoon roaming through Rome, laughing, taking selfies, and basically celebrating our pink tutu sisterhood – it’s been such a blast connecting with like-minded individuals! We were even invited to be featured in a local fashion magazine, showcasing a special piece about the #PinkTutuRome movement, but more on that later!

This afternoon, we all headed down to the Pantheon – my second visit this week. It was amazing to be in that beautiful, ancient building – surrounded by centuries of history – with so many gorgeous tutus in the company. This has really been the week for magic and wonder! I’m truly loving all the fantastic pink encounters!

And then – tonight, we had an amazing performance, set right underneath the starry sky at the Circus Maximus. I can't even describe the beauty of the stage set-up – honestly, it felt like we were dancing amongst the stars. It was even more amazing than I ever imagined – dancing amidst history under the magical stars! It just doesn't get any better than this.

We performed a ballet fusion show, with a touch of contemporary flare (and yes, a pink spotlight! 😜), and the whole performance just glowed with magic and joy! Everyone loved it – including me – of course! I felt completely enchanted as I twirled across the stage, shining my way through every single step. And for one magical moment, it felt as if the whole world had joined in our pink wonderland!

This experience has reminded me just how much power a pink tutu has! You know what I'm talking about, darlings! It has a special magical quality, that brings joy to everyone around us, even for just a few moments. That is truly what it’s all about.

Rome, you've made a lasting impression, darlings. From tutus to ancient ruins to delicious food – I've never experienced anything like it! Stay tuned for more exciting updates as I continue my adventures in the pink paradise that is Rome!

Until then, Ciao bella!
