Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella!

Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, and today's stop on my sartorial adventure? Rome! I know, I know - what could be more perfect for a girl who lives in pink tutus than the Eternal City itself?

This week, it's all about embracing the glamour of Rome. The Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon - these places just scream for a little bit of ballerina sparkle! And I've got just the outfit: a delicate blush pink tutu, layered over a silk camisole, finished with a chunky pearl necklace and my favourite, custom-made ballet flats - perfect for strolling amongst ancient ruins without sacrificing comfort or style.

It wouldn't be Rome without a little fashion, so I'm planning to do some serious window shopping today. After all, you can't visit Italy without picking up some beautiful Italian silk or a gorgeous vintage piece! Maybe even a new, flamboyant, tulle creation to add to my collection...

But Rome isn't all about sightseeing and shopping - this is a city that sings with history, and with my love for ballet, how could I not explore the Roman Theatre of Ostia Antica? Imagine - ancient Rome, and already, these brilliant Romans were enjoying performances of theatre and, perhaps, even dance! It’s so inspiring! I've already got my sights set on attending the Ballet Opera Rome on Friday - this iconic theatre has hosted ballets for centuries, and I can't wait to soak in the history and feel the energy of the city buzzing around me as I watch a masterpiece unfold on stage.

Did I tell you? The weather is absolutely divine here in Rome - sunshine, crisp air, the perfect temperature for a morning of walking. Speaking of which, my little Italian adventure wouldn't be complete without a good, old-fashioned gelato! It’s the best way to refuel after a morning of touring. (Maybe I’ll even get two scoops today - because, why not, right?!)

Let's be honest, travelling by train is definitely my favourite part of any trip. It gives you the chance to really absorb the landscape and just be. I caught a magical sunset as we were winding our way through the Italian countryside; so peaceful and pretty. Honestly, I think I might need to create a whole series of travel by train looks just to document it. What do you think, darlings? I'm thinking velvet bomber jacket, tailored leggings, and maybe even some ballet slippers - comfort and style combined, obviously!

To see some of the stunning ballet classes I attend in London - and maybe get some inspiration for your own dancing career! - be sure to check out my Instagram @pinktutuemma.

You know I wouldn't miss out on sharing some snaps of my favourite spots, so check out the latest Pink Tutu Rome blog pics! It’s going to be a whirlwind of a week.

Remember - always embrace your inner ballerina, always wear a smile (and perhaps a touch of pink!), and let's make the world a more magical place one tutu at a time!

Stay tuned, darlings. This adventure is just beginning...

Pink Tutu Rome: What To Do

I'm a bit obsessed with researching each destination before I go, so you don't have to! Here are a few things I’m doing to fill my time in Rome this week. Feel free to steal my ideas - but remember to tag me in your own tutu pics!

  • Explore the Colosseum: Obviously! It's an architectural masterpiece, a testament to Roman ingenuity. Plus, it looks amazing in a pink tutu, just saying.

  • Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain: A classic Roman ritual and an opportunity for a gorgeous photo op. (Don't forget the dramatic pink tutu pose, girls!)

  • Wander through the Borghese Gallery: Exquisite art, beautifully landscaped gardens, and plenty of chances to show off your dancing moves (I might just try out some of the statues... ;)).

  • Gaze at the Pantheon: This is an absolute must-see, especially for any lover of history and architecture!

  • Explore the Roman Forum: Imagine all the history these buildings hold!

  • Eat an incredible Italian Gelato: A little sweetness never hurt anybody, right?!

  • See the Ballet Opera Rome: What could be better than enjoying an exquisite ballet performance in this historic and beautiful venue?

  • Visit Ostia Antica: Stepping into history. And it looks incredible!

Pink Tutu Rome: Must Have Items For Your Suitcase

For the fashionista with a twinkle in her eye and a passion for ballet, here are a few must-have items to pack in your suitcase:

  • Pink tutu, of course: (Did I already mention that? )
  • Ballet Flats: I always opt for comfortable shoes with a touch of sparkle.
  • Sequin scarf: Just to add a bit of pizazz.
  • Bold earrings: A perfect accessory for an evening performance.
  • A flattering sunhat: For those sunny Roman days.

Oh, and don’t forget your passport and a bit of “Ciao Bella!” to greet the locals.

Let me know if you’ve been to Rome and what were some of your favourite parts. Or let me know if you have any tips for a fellow fashionista and tutu-lover.

See you all next week with another exciting Pink Tutu adventure! Ciao!
