Welcome back to Pink Tutu Rome! This is my 1259th blog post and it feels fantastic to be writing it from the heart of Rome!
The sun is shining, the gelato is flowing, and the cobbled streets are calling me to explore them in my pink tutu, of course! Today is all about the Eternal City and it's overflowing with historic charm and a contagious energy that has me twirling through the piazzas with the excitement of a young ballerina at her first performance.
My Journey by Train
It feels incredible to have reached Rome after my picturesque train journey through Italy. I must say, thereās something incredibly romantic about chugging through vineyards and countryside, with mountains in the distance. Every tunnel was an adventure, every stop an opportunity to stretch my legs and soak in the atmosphere.
Pink Tutu Performances & Funds
Let's be honest, the funding for this trip came straight from my pink tutu performances back home. My last show was "Giselle", and let me tell you, the audience's energy was electric, and their cheers fueled my every step. The thrill of dancing under the spotlight is worth all the hard work and sweat. It's not just about the beautiful costumes (although the white tulle always gets me excited!), it's about the magic of sharing a story with everyone through the expressive language of dance. I couldnāt have wished for a better way to fuel this adventure in Rome.
Fashion Inspiration: Roma Dolce
Okay, we need to talk about fashion. Rome is bursting at the seams with incredible boutiques, designer shops, and bustling street markets, a total haven for a girl who loves a splash of colour, like yours truly. The clothes here, oh my! Letās just say Iāve already made a trip to one or two charming shops tucked away in hidden corners.
You wouldnāt believe the pink shoes I found. A pair of delicate blush-pink heeled sandals that just scream āI'm ready for an Italian summerā! Theyāll be my go-to for all the romantic evenings that lie ahead, especially as I envision them paired with my signature pink tulle skirt. It's about finding that balance of elegance and playful femininity ā like a modern-day Audrey Hepburn meeting a Parisian ballerina.
Tonight: Opera and La Dolce Vita
Tonight is a special one! The opera. The magical atmosphere, the dramatic voices, the opulent costumes. Itās justā¦ wow! And of course, I wouldnāt be true to myself if I didnāt wear my favourite pink tutu. Yes, a pink tulle skirt under an elegant dress. A little sprinkle of ballet magic under a gown of black satin! Itās the little touches that create that perfect Italian āla dolce vitaā - the sweet life - feeling.
Food for the Soul:
I'm planning a feast of Italian delights: Fresh pasta tossed in basil, hearty pizzas topped with vibrant tomato sauce, and decadent gelato (did I mention gelato? Iām convinced the Italians invented happiness in the form of deliciously creamy frozen treat!), washed down with a refreshing glass of Limoncello, a delicious lemon liqueur!
Discovering Romeās Hidden Gems
Tomorrow I'm diving headfirst into exploring some of the hidden gems of Rome. My plan? To weave a pink tutu path through the ancient Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Can you imagine how much history dances under these iconic structures?
