#PinkTutuRome - Wednesday 2020-02-12: Bella Roma!

Hello my gorgeous Tutu-loving lovelies! It's Emma, your pink-tutu-clad, travel-obsessed ballerina, back from a whirlwind of Roman adventure. As usual, I've got a fabulous blog post bursting with everything you need to make your own Pink Tutu Rome a reality! šŸ˜‰ This is post number 1288 on the www.pink-tutu.com website, and my Wednesday tradition of sharing all my Roman explorations is back, stronger than ever!

Rome is a city that feels like stepping straight into a fairytale. Itā€™s majestic, with its ancient ruins, gorgeous cobbled streets, and the most delicious smells of freshly baked bread and coffee. This week, I've been feeling especially inspired by the vibrant energy and the romantic charm that pulsates from every corner of the city. It's no wonder why so many love stories have blossomed under its captivating sun.

*(And, yes, my gorgeous, flowing, pink tulle tutu was absolutely the perfect choice for all of it, of course! šŸ˜‚ We'll be taking a closer look at some outfits in just a sec!) *

My Journey: A Train Ride, a Little History and lots of Beauty!

Arriving in Rome this time was a magical train journey. I've always adored train travel - there's just something so wonderfully nostalgic about looking out the window, watching the world whizz past, as I sip my tea and dream of where Iā€™ll be heading next. And when you're in a city like Rome, the landscapes transform from picturesque green fields to ancient ruins and cobbled streets, a truly unforgettable visual symphony.

The station itself felt almost like stepping into an Italian film. Imagine soaring arched ceilings, shimmering tiles, and that lovely sense of history buzzing all around you. Itā€™s these little details that bring a city truly to life!

My Roman Must-Do: An Opera with a Pink Tutu!

Of course, no visit to Rome would be complete without taking in a show, right? This week, I took a little trip to Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma, a magnificent opera house steeped in Italian cultural heritage, I absolutely adore experiencing a city through its art. They are so captivating!

This time I opted for Verdiā€™s ā€œLa Traviataā€ - a powerful and tragic story that took my breath away. From the soaring voices to the opulent costumes and grand sets, it was a night of absolute brilliance!

The Fashion Finds:

Now, as I mentioned, I took inspiration from the sheer beauty of Roman design - from its mosaics to its stunning architecture - for my outfit. And trust me, I know the perfect pink tutu goes with EVERYTHING! šŸ˜‰

This week I chose my beautiful cherry-pink tulle tutu paired with a sheer black long-sleeved blouse that shimmered with a subtle gold thread. The look felt dramatic and effortlessly chic, just like the opera itself. And just like a ballerina, I always love a good touch of shimmer and sparkle!

Time for a Little Fashion Shopping!

Itā€™s a total clichĆ© to say Rome has THE best fashion shopping! It really does! And when I think of Rome, itā€™s almost always synonymous with the elegance and charm of classic Italian fashion, So, of course, a bit of retail therapy was high on the agenda!

I was in complete heaven strolling down Via Condotti ā€“ imagine yourself surrounded by iconic boutiques of names like Gucci, Prada, Fendiā€¦ you name it! It was a serious feast for the eyes, all the colours and styles, every garment beautifully displayed - my inner fashionista was very happy indeed!

Of course, I couldn't resist trying on a few things, and what would be better for this glamorous occasion than my beloved pink tutu?! It just goes with everything and looks even more special amidst the most fabulous designers! šŸ˜‰ It was the perfect pink accessory for a touch of fun and flair while navigating the fashion streets of Rome!

I canā€™t reveal my purchases (no spoilers, darling!) but let me just say this: my Roman adventure gave my wardrobe the most amazing little makeover - more gorgeous pink accessories, luxurious fabrics and an effortless yet chic air!

From Ancient Wonders to Culinary Delights: Rome's Magical Blend

Now, when weā€™re not ballet-ing, shopping, or indulging in the theatre, my favourite thing about Rome is that feeling that time just doesnā€™t matter - it just gently flows around you. You find yourself wandering down ancient, cobbled streets as the smell of espresso and fresh bread swirls around you, feeling like youā€™re the first person to set foot here.

I discovered this incredible little coffee shop hidden within the cobbled back streets of Trastevere ā€“ the ultimate little Parisian-esque cafe hidden in the heart of Italy! It felt almost out of time, with its terracotta walls and tiny tables filled with chatty locals, a beautiful scene!

Pizza perfection and Roman delights

And of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without pizza. The Pinsa Romana at Pizzarium Bonci (absolutely my favourite spot in Rome! šŸ˜ ) is just an utter masterpiece of deliciousness ā€“ thin, crispy, topped with the most heavenly fresh and flavoursome ingredients!
