Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! (Blog Post #1295)

Buongiorno, my darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another installment of Pink Tutu Rome! 🩰🇮🇹

This week, I'm whisking you all away on a journey through the Eternal City, straight from my pink tutu-clad heart. 💓 Rome, oh Rome, how I adore you! Your ancient history, your breathtaking architecture, your gelato – it all speaks to my soul. Plus, who wouldn’t want to live somewhere where fashion and fabulousness are practically mandatory?

This week in Rome has been a whirlwind of exciting experiences, just as I knew it would be. As you all know, I’m all about travelling in style, so of course, my trusty pink tutu has been on full display throughout. You’ve got to embrace the opportunity to stand out, right? Especially when you're in such a gorgeous place as this!

Speaking of fabulous, let’s talk about this week's fashion highlights! You can’t come to Rome without doing a little bit of shopping. There are so many charming boutiques, all brimming with fabulous fabrics and designer pieces. And don't even get me started on the shoes – I’m not sure my little suitcase will have enough room for all the treasures I’m going to be carting back to Derbyshire.

From Ballerina to Roman Goddess

And while Rome has been serving up some incredible fashion inspiration, it has also given me a real taste of its rich cultural heritage. 🏛️ Imagine my delight when I discovered the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – one of the most beautiful opera houses I’ve ever seen! Talk about a ballet lover’s dream. I have already bought tickets for a show this coming weekend, can you imagine my excitement? I have my tutu ready and I’ve even chosen my shoes – a pair of glitzy gold pumps that are just screaming "Diva". 😉

It’s not just the opera house that's stolen my heart. Rome is positively bursting with fascinating ancient ruins, magnificent churches and stunning squares, making each corner feel like stepping back in time. Today, I spent the afternoon wandering through the Roman Forum, soaking in the majesty of its crumbling grandeur, it’s pretty impressive if you ask me. Afterwards, I rewarded myself with the most delectable slice of tiramisu – because let’s be honest, any opportunity to enjoy Italian dessert is a good opportunity! 🍨

But don’t think this week’s been all sightseeing and gelato. You know me, my dear readers – I always find time for some serious ballet! Even though I'm miles away from home, I'm always searching for the best places to dance, and Rome has not disappointed. I stumbled upon a charming ballet school tucked away in a cobblestone courtyard. Can you believe my luck?! The instructors were lovely and welcoming, the classes were challenging but inspiring, and even the studios were beautifully adorned with mirrors and traditional Italian charm. It’s a bit of a cliche but it truly was a fairytale come true, not only that but the classes are surprisingly affordable for a capital city.

Traveling by Train

Before I dive into more of this week's exciting discoveries, let’s chat about my journey to Rome. I love travelling by train – the romantic clinking of the tracks, the views flying past, the chance to chat with interesting people... It's the perfect opportunity to reflect on my adventures while also getting lost in the beauty of my surroundings. This time, the journey through the Italian countryside was a true visual treat. Think lush greenery, rolling hills and the occasional picturesque village. Honestly, it was like travelling through a movie! The whole thing was so much more relaxing than flying and I was lucky enough to have a private cabin which added a lovely touch of luxury to my journey.

Next Week: Fashion & Food

I hope you're enjoying my escapades in Rome as much as I am! Be sure to check back next Wednesday for another Pink Tutu Rome post filled with even more of my latest fashion finds, foodie experiences and, of course, ballet adventures.

Until then, stay beautiful and remember, never underestimate the power of a pink tutu! ✨💕
