Ciao bellas! 👋 Emma here, back from another exciting adventure – this time, a whirlwind trip to the Eternal City, Rome! This Wednesday's blog is all about my fabulous Italian escapade, bursting with pink tulle, charming piazzas, and of course, plenty of ballet! 💖
It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Wednesday without a dash of sartorial magic, right? This trip was all about the pinkest of pinks, darling. From my pastel pink dress to the frilly pink tutu that came along for the ride (always a must for a ballet-loving adventurer!), every shade of pink was represented in my Rome wardrobe. 🎀 I even managed to snag a stunning fuchsia clutch in a little boutique in Trastevere. A real statement piece, let me tell you! 😉
Trains and Tutu Adventures 🚂
This trip was all about the glamour of rail travel – nothing beats the romance of a train journey! I hopped on a train from Derby, and you wouldn't believe the sheer delight of watching the countryside whiz by from my window, a good book and a hot cup of tea in hand. (Just add a pinch of ballet music, and it's practically a scene from a fairytale!) It's this sort of magic that inspires my love for travel. Honestly, I'd take a train anywhere!
Stepping into Roman Culture
Rome didn't disappoint, my darlings! First things first: the food! Oh, the food! I'm not even going to lie, my trip was a bit of a culinary adventure. A delectable spaghetti alla carbonara in a quaint little trattoria in Trastevere, creamy tiramisu with a generous drizzle of espresso, and an abundance of fresh, local fruit that practically exploded with flavour. And let's not forget the gelato – oh, the gelato! 🍦 It was simply divine.
Then there were the sights, which were beyond breathtaking! The Colosseum, majestic and powerful; the Trevi Fountain, with its magical atmosphere, where I tossed a coin (just to make sure I'd be back to dance on Italian cobblestones!) ; the Pantheon, with its intricate dome; and the Spanish Steps, a cascade of beauty and timeless elegance.
Rome also held a special charm for a ballet aficionado like me! The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma was a feast for my senses! Seeing a beautiful production of “Swan Lake” – the graceful movements, the beautiful costumes, the enchanting music, it transported me to another world, filled with artistry and emotions. And speaking of dance, the Teatro Argentina, nestled in the heart of the city, gave me a glimpse into the rich tradition of Roman theatre. A perfect spot for a bit of history and a sprinkle of theatricality! ✨
A Pink Tutu Fashion Diary
Every Wednesday, you can expect a post from me detailing my favourite fashion finds of the week, and this Wednesday was no different. From strolling through Rome's iconic fashion houses to exploring vintage shops in hidden alleyways, I soaked up the city's distinct sartorial flair. A bright silk scarf to complement a flowing midi dress, an embroidered linen bag for a touch of rustic charm, and of course, a pair of fabulous Italian leather shoes, the perfect finishing touch to any look!
Memories that will last a lifetime
It’s true what they say: Rome is a city you can’t help but fall in love with. I’m already planning my return – with another vibrant pink tutu, of course! My travels are a continuous journey, a testament to the spirit of adventure that fuels my passion for both ballet and fashion.
