Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! Post #1321 - 30th September 2020

Ciao from sunny Rome, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back with another fab post from my whirlwind Italian adventure! Today, I'm channelling a very "La Dolce Vita" vibe in my gorgeous new blush pink tutu - the perfect accessory for exploring the Eternal City!

Now, let's be honest, a tutu-wearing Brit on the cobblestone streets of Rome might sound like a bit of a clash, but honestly, the Romans loved it! So much so that they kept stopping me for pictures โ€“ they're so enthusiastic here! Maybe it's the pink, maybe it's the tulle, but whatever it is, they certainly seem to be captivated by the magic of ballet, even in this vibrant, historical city.

This week, my exploration began with a grand, high-speed Italian train journey! Nothing beats that rhythmic rumble of the tracks, the views rushing by, and the anticipation building for my arrival in Rome. It was truly an adventure from start to finish!

Speaking of the city, oh Rome, you enchantress! I felt an immediate love for your cobblestone streets, bustling piazzas, and sun-drenched cafes. I couldn't help but feel transported back in time as I wandered through the Roman Forum, a place so brimming with history, it felt as if the ancient emperors were still breathing life into its stone walls!

Now, a good fashionista knows that Rome isn't just about ancient wonders. The shopping scene here is just divine! It's like a delicious spread of Italian glamour and chic! Today I had the ultimate pleasure of discovering the hidden treasures of a tiny, boutique atelier tucked away on a quiet back street. I came out with a stunning, hand-crafted, powder-blue silk top - the perfect companion to my trusty pink tutu!

No trip to Rome is complete without a bit of a ballet fix, and my schedule wouldn't be complete without one! Luckily, tonight's offering at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is nothing short of magnificent โ€“ Romeo and Juliet! Imagine, Shakespeare and ballet all rolled into one โ€“ oh the drama, the passion! It promises to be an evening of artistic genius.

For dinner, I indulged in a sumptuous Italian feast - fresh pasta, juicy tomatoes, and rich tiramisu - oh, my darling! And don't forget the wine, because what's a night in Rome without a bit of "vino rosso"! My tastebuds are dancing! This city really knows how to feed the soul.

As I settle in for the night, I can't help but marvel at how vibrant, joyful, and truly breathtaking this city is. The music from the street vendors and the laughter of children echo in the air, making Rome feel alive and buzzing with energy.

Rome, my heart is full. I'm so glad you have been such an enchanting and exhilarating part of my journey. And hey, I might even wear my tutu to the Opera โ€“ maybe, just maybe, it will become a signature look of my travels!

But enough about my adventures! Let's hear from you, dear readers! Where have your tutus taken you this week? Share your adventures with me on my website and on social media โ€“ I want to hear all about it!

And, remember, my lovely friends, always embrace the pink, wear your tutus with pride, and never forget to spread a little bit of ballet magic wherever you go!

See you next Wednesday!

Lots of love, Emma xo
