Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2020-12-16 - Ciao Bella!

Welcome back to Pink Tutu Rome! This week, my little lovelies, we're waltzing through the Eternal City, savouring every cobbled street and gelato-filled corner. It's post number 1332 on www.pink-tutu.com, and I'm overflowing with excitement to share my Italian adventures with you!

As a Derbyshire girl at heart, I can't get enough of exploring new places. The train journey down to Rome was a dream come true, watching the countryside roll past in a blur of vineyards and charming towns. I've always been a train-lover, finding something incredibly romantic and exhilarating about travelling across borders in this magical way. And let's be honest, you can't wear a pink tutu on a plane, can you? That just wouldn't be right. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today, my darling readers, the city is painted in the colours of Christmas. Every street corner boasts a glowing nativity scene, twinkling lights dance on the grand old buildings, and the aroma of hot chestnut sellers drifts on the cool breeze. I've fallen head over heels for Rome, especially at this magical time of year.

My day started with a visit to the Trevi Fountain. I won't lie, I'm absolutely terrible at remembering to toss a coin over my shoulder, but even if I can't ensure my return to Rome, I certainly felt a surge of inspiration as I admired the Baroque beauty of the fountain. I mean, imagine the magnificent spectacle of a ballet performance right there under the cascading water! My mind was whirring with possibilities, and I could almost picture the graceful movements of dancers reflected in the water, their tutus swirling in a gentle symphony of movement.

Speaking of tutus, the cobbled streets of Rome have become my personal fashion runway. Let's face it, it's hard to be anything less than stylish when you're surrounded by such inspiring architecture and art. The grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica almost had me spinning into a twirl, and the exquisite Renaissance masterpieces in the Vatican Museums inspired me to whip out my phone and snap a few Insta-worthy shots of my own. (Don't worry, I'll post them later!). I can't tell you how many heads I turned wearing my new dusky rose tutu with a glittering black lace top and cherry red beret. You see, dear reader, the best part about my pink tutu journey is sharing it with the world, and inspiring others to embrace a little bit of pink, a little bit of fun, and a whole lot of confidence.

One thing you must know about me: I can't resist a good vintage shop. So, after my cultural exploration, I headed off to explore Rome's eclectic vintage scene, hunting for the perfect statement pieces to complement my ever-growing collection of tutus. Rome seems to have an endless supply of enchanting little shops brimming with unique treasures from the past. It's a little treasure trove for fashionistas like me!

I think I might just have stumbled upon a new love: gelato! I sampled the most exquisite pistachio gelato today, a heavenly blend of sweet and nutty goodness. Honestly, I could probably survive on a diet of nothing but gelato, champagne, and ballet performances, don't you think? (Just kidding, Mum!)

As the sun sets, painting the sky with fiery hues of orange and purple, I find myself mesmerized by the city's dramatic transformation. It's time for my evening performance. I'm about to take the stage, my pointe shoes ready to create magic, and my heart overflowing with joy. I hope to see you again soon, my dear readers! Until next Wednesday, remember, life's a performance, so wear your pink tutu with confidence!

Ciao for now, from your Pink Tutu Girl, Emma.

(Don't forget to check back next week for my Rome adventures, including the incredible performance I'll be showcasing!)
