Pink Tutu Rome #1377 - Ciao Bella!
Hello from Rome, my darling Tutu-lovers! It's Wednesday, which means a fresh new blog post from yours truly, Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger. This week, we're whisking ourselves to the Eternal City, Rome, for an exciting and vibrant escapade.
Rome, a city dripping with history and oozing with captivating beauty. I have been eagerly awaiting this trip! It feels so surreal, stepping out of the train station into the bustle of Roman life, with its cobbled streets and centuries-old architecture. And oh my, the food smells, just glorious!
This week, the excitement level is sky-high, my darling tutus! This blog will feature…
- A Ballerina’s Paradise: The Academy of Dance - I'm positively giddy at the prospect of visiting the Academy of Dance here, where legendary dancers have graced the stages.
- Exploring Ancient History: It would be a travesty to visit Rome and not delve into its extraordinary past. We’re heading to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Pantheon, imagining what life must have been like centuries ago.
- A Spot of Shopping - I'm ready to indulge in the delights of Via Condotti, one of Rome’s most exclusive shopping streets. Let’s see if I can find a vintage tulle skirt that matches the shades of the Trevi fountain!
- *La Dolce Vita – * It’s impossible to come to Rome without experiencing a night at the theatre. On Saturday, we are enjoying a performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, indulging in all the glitz and glamour!
Rome! My Fashion Journey in a Pink Tutu
Oh darling, I couldn't wait to explore the enchanting streets of Rome in my signature pink tutu. This city embraces a chic and elegant fashion vibe, and I've chosen to pair my sparkling pink tutu with a billowing cream silk blouse, complete with a cascading rose-gold chain necklace and my trusty white ballerina pumps. I wanted a touch of romance for this romantic city!
For my visit to the ancient Colosseum, I chose a black lace tutu for a sophisticated, yet historical aesthetic. Black and white with touches of shimmering pink will be my key themes for this week in Rome, with splashes of bright color to make sure that, even in the Eternal City, my Pink Tutu stands out!
Travelling by Train – My Love Affair with Railways
As a self-proclaimed train enthusiast, arriving in Rome via the luxurious comfort of the Eurostar felt like a dream. The scenery whizzed past like a captivating film, capturing my attention with every new town we passed. Being on a train brings such an element of mystery to the arrival experience, a slow reveal that fuels the excitement! The gentle click-clack of the tracks has such a hypnotic quality. I'm convinced this rhythmic cadence stimulates creativity!
Making Ballet Dreams Come True
This week, the thrill of visiting Rome's most famous dance studio is a highlight I can't wait for! The city is brimming with talented dancers and a passion for the art of dance. Seeing where legends have learned and practised their artistry, soaking in the energy of the room, and meeting the passionate individuals shaping Rome’s dance scene is going to be incredible. I’m absolutely planning to bring a pink tutu with me for the class! You’re all going to want to see my dance moves (especially when I'm wearing my beautiful pink tutu!)
A Touch of History and Glamour
Today, I had the opportunity to explore the beautiful Colosseum. It’s a sight to behold! To think that so many people were gathered here, centuries ago, their lives unfolding amidst the grandeur and magnificence of this iconic amphitheatre. It was inspiring to stand on that very ground, absorbing the energy of thousands of years!
I'll be blogging about all my historical explorations – the Pantheon with its intricate mosaics, the Roman Forum’s captivating ruins, and the Roman Baths! There’s such rich history just waiting to be explored! And, of course, I'll make sure to document my outfits, fashion finds, and, yes, those magnificent tutus for you to admire!
A Taste of Rome - Gelato and Pizza!
Italy is world-famous for its delicious food, especially for the incredible flavours of its pizza and gelato. I am a bit of a gelato enthusiast, and so this trip has given me ample opportunity to indulge. Strawberry and pistachio are my favourite combinations! I even found a shop selling a gelato flavour infused with lavender. So imaginative, and delicious too!
We also treated ourselves to an authentic Italian pizza – thin crust and covered with fresh mozzarella. There is such an emphasis on freshness, high-quality ingredients, and traditional cooking methods. It really does feel like each meal is an event, and a chance to relish the true meaning of la dolce vita.
Wednesday’s Wardrobe
And now for a sneak peek at the fabulous outfit I’m wearing this week as I explore the historical sights of Rome.
- I chose to pair my sparkly pink tutu with a delicate white top and white flats to highlight the delicate shade of pink.
- I love how my tutu makes such a bold statement amongst the classical stone and marble of the Colosseum and Pantheon!
- A simple statement necklace with sparkling gold links is my final touch of elegance.
I’m off now to the Teatro dell’Opera, for tonight’s show – I cannot wait to be dazzled by the performers. Be sure to check back next Wednesday for an updated blog with all my fabulous adventures, including photos, outfits, and maybe a few videos.
