Pink Tutu Rome: #1403
Ciao Bella!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing (actually, they're mostly squawking in this part of Rome!), and this girl is feeling pinktastic as I step off the train into the Eternal City!
This week's adventures bring us to Rome, the place of gladiators, emperors, and, dare I say, even fabulous tutus (just wait, I have some amazing outfits planned for this trip).
You might be thinking, Emma, Rome? But let me tell you, my lovelies, this city has it all.
History, art, culture, fashion (oh, the fashion!), delicious food (seriously, pasta, pizza, and gelato – what's not to love?), and… well, plenty of opportunities to bust out my best pink tutu 💃
Let's rewind a bit...
Rome, for me, is more than just a place; it's a feeling. The scent of fresh bread in the air, the murmur of ancient secrets whispered by stone, and the warmth of the people – all this makes it feel like home, like stepping into a romantic movie with all the best bits.
It took a 12-hour train ride from Derbyshire, my gorgeous home county in the UK. Not gonna lie, the train ride was a bit long, but I love train travel – something about being in a carriage whizzing past landscapes with the occasional cheeky cat napping on my shoulder, well, that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. (By the way, my "pinktastic" luggage – you know, with the tutu-themed details - was the star of the show and the envy of the entire carriage! People kept glancing over in admiration – so worth the extra effort of matching my luggage with my mood!)
Anyway, I finally made it to the beautiful Rome Termini train station. The train station in itself is a historical building (we love a bit of history in Pink Tutu!), the arched ceilings and ornate marble were an incredible sight. Of course, I couldn’t resist grabbing a few shots with my pink tutu (it’s all about celebrating fashion in any environment).
Here's what's on the menu for #PinkTutuRome this week:
- Tuesday: Walking Rome – the Trevi Fountain. * Did you know that this gorgeous Baroque fountain was inspired by Roman baths, all those centuries ago? We’ll also be stopping by Piazza Navona for some *seriously good gelato and of course, some snaps for the Insta.
- Wednesday: *Rome with a view. * This girl loves a good viewpoint! We'll be scaling the Pantheon (that magnificent dome is like a giant pink tutu – in a good way, of course!), followed by some amazing Roman sunset shots from the Janiculum Hill, for that epic Italian vibe!
- Thursday: Shopping!* Seriously, what's a trip to Rome without some good old-fashioned retail therapy? The streets here are lined with gorgeous boutiques – ready to help you find the perfect Pink Tutu outfit, so bring your wallets, darlings! Of course, I'll be doing some shopping at the vintage stores, too, for some authentic Roman style.
Friday: Theatre Night! Opera! We'll be taking in a performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. This magnificent opera house, dating back to the 19th century, boasts dazzling architecture and promises an extraordinary performance – and, yes, of course, my Tutu will make an appearance! (A girl has to express her love for ballet, everywhere, right? ) I mean, come on, the theatricality and elegance of a grand opera... how could I miss out?!
Saturday: A Roman Holiday. We're going to be soaking up the sun at Villa Borghese, wandering around the beautiful gardens and stopping for picnics. Don't worry, I’ll bring some pink lemonade and pinktastic snacks – gotta keep up the pink theme! I can already see some adorable photo opps around the ponds and waterfalls!
- Sunday: *Goodbye Rome, hello… Next Adventure! * (Time to head back to Derbyshire – the train ride back is already booked. Maybe I'll bring back some pink-themed goodies for my home studio!)
*Follow along on www.pink-tutu.com and Instagram, * as I share the journey and capture all the Roman magic through a pink tutu lens!
I’ve got so much planned, and I’m excited to share my Rome adventures with you all. Don't forget, my travel fund for this journey has been thanks to my amazing ballet shows back in England. My next one will be at the end of April, so if you’re looking for an inspiring, elegant evening, check out my website! I hope you enjoy this week's posts as much as I enjoy making them.
Always twirling, and keeping it pink!
Emma xo
