Ciao bella! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another Wednesday post from Rome! This week I'm whisking you away to the Eternal City – oh, the drama! – where I'm experiencing la dolce vita with a sprinkle of tulle.
Let me tell you, Rome is absolutely magical! Even though I've already sampled all the delicious pastries and gelato – don't worry, I'm finding time for some exercise – it's hard to believe it's only been a few days.
Today I wanted to share a little glimpse into my Roman adventure so far. Remember those fabulously chic Italian looks I've been talking about? Well, let me tell you, my wardrobe has been having a real transformation! I've already snapped up a pair of glorious coral leather pumps (because every girl needs a touch of colour!) and a stunning black silk scarf – a little something for my next performance. And the clothes – divine! Rome is a shopping haven for fashion lovers like myself!
I even found a gorgeous pink tutu in a tiny boutique in Trastevere. You know I couldn't resist, so now it's adorning my suitcase. I think it’s going to make an incredible appearance on my upcoming ballet performance on the Trevi Fountain… oh, just imagine! 😉
And the food! Oh, the food! You won't believe the flavours I'm discovering here. The aroma of fresh pasta, the divine smell of coffee, and, of course, that decadent, melt-in-your-mouth gelato. I could spend hours indulging in Roman culinary delights. But my tour guide assures me that Italian pasta is a must-try for any foodie, and my goodness, they weren't lying. Pasta and tutu - what a fantastic combination!
Speaking of Italian food, there is a delicious Italian restaurant called Il Baco just near the Colosseum that I'm planning on trying this week! This has to be a top contender for my Roman adventure, with all the pasta dishes being under 15 Euros. What a steal! You know, even when I'm travelling, keeping it stylish doesn’t need to be expensive, it’s about finding little gems! I can't wait to share a photo with you all on my social media – you'll be sure to see it popping up on my feed tomorrow!
So, where to next on this Pink Tutu Rome adventure? I've got my sights set on the Vatican Museums. I hear there’s a breathtaking collection of art there, and a few pink accents thrown in, hopefully! Can you imagine posing for pictures in my tutu by a masterpiece? Maybe I can inspire the curator to introduce pink tutus to the next exhibit. 😉 Oh, and let’s not forget a tour of the Sistine Chapel - I heard the artwork there is absolutely jaw-dropping.
In the evening, I'll be watching a show at the Teatro dell'Opera. Opera! Tutus! Drama! It doesn’t get more exciting than that! It’s amazing to see the local Italian dancers perform, it’s inspiring me for my next big ballet! It’s a little known fact that the Teatro dell'Opera has held over 1,300 operas, but only 58 ballet performances – I’m hoping to add to that number in the future! I’m working on a choreography of “Romeo and Juliet” featuring a pink tutu, a pink Juliet and a pink Romeo, of course! I’ll make sure to share the details on my social media.
You know me, I'm all about discovering the vibrant beauty of new places, and that's what makes travelling so exciting! Each destination offers something unique, something unexpected. Rome is no exception. From the historical grandeur to the modern day vibe, there is an undeniable energy that radiates throughout the city.
I must admit, Rome has got me thinking... I'm already planning a visit to Florence to discover what fashion treasures await me there! Can you imagine all the gorgeous Italian leather, designer silk scarves, and a perfectly fitting tutu?! * * * *dreamy sigh * * The possibilities are endless, my darlings!
But for now, it’s back to the delights of the Eternal City – I’m craving another slice of tiramisu, you know, to fuel the creative energy!
