Buongiorno, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller back with another weekly dose of Italian sunshine from the Eternal City, Rome! I must confess, I'm utterly smitten with this place. The cobblestone streets, the ancient ruins, the gelato - all topped with a generous sprinkle of Italian charm - have me twirling in my pink tutu with pure delight!
Last Wednesday I left Derbyshire with a heart full of dreams and a suitcase bursting with fabulous pink tutu outfits, ready to conquer the Roman fashion scene. I even snagged a fabulously pink train ticket from London to Rome - gotta keep it thematic, right? Speaking of trains, can I just gush for a moment about the journey? It was like travelling through a masterpiece painted by Monet, with landscapes shifting from emerald green fields to glistening turquoise waters. Honestly, it was the perfect prelude to the magic of Rome.
A Pink Tutu in the City of Eternal Romance
I'm not sure what is more magical, the Roman Colosseum at sunset or a pink tutu in the heart of Rome. Both have that enchanting air of ancient power mixed with pure beauty! Let's be real, there is nothing quite as striking as a delicate tulle skirt flowing amongst the ancient arches, like a graceful ballet dancer frozen in time. Of course, my pink tulle was just the start of my Rome look – I topped it with a delicate floral top, a vintage pearl necklace, and my favourite blush-toned heels. Talk about turning heads, right?
But let's talk about the food, darlings! The aroma of freshly baked bread mingling with the scent of creamy coffee beans is just heavenly. I swear, I can almost taste the delicious pasta dishes, and the mouth-watering pizzas – it's a foodie paradise! My favourite find so far is this adorable little cafe nestled between a shop filled with pink tutus (of course I had to get one!) and an antique jewellery shop. The owner, a charming old lady with a heart full of sunshine, makes the best tiramisu. Seriously, she deserves a medal!
Fashion, Ballet and Roman Adventures
My day in Rome began with a stroll through the trendy Via Condotti. Let me tell you, the fashion scene here is out of this world! I’ve never seen so many beautiful shoes and outfits. Of course, I snagged a few new pink tulle creations – you can never have too many pink tutus! I then headed to Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for a breathtaking performance of "La Bayadère." The ballet was simply exquisite, and the tutus – sigh, so inspiring.
After a performance, you can usually find me curled up at a cozy café, writing a blog post, or indulging in a spot of people-watching with a cappuccino. I adore observing the Roman locals, their laughter, their grace, their undeniable charm.
The magic of Rome unfolds every day, darlings. It’s a city brimming with artistry and history, romance and wonder. And let me tell you, nothing, and I mean nothing, enhances that magic more than a beautiful pink tutu.
