Pink Tutu Rome: #1510 - La Dolce Vita with a Tutu Twist! 🩰🇮🇹
Buongiorno, my darling pink tutu lovers!
It's Emma here, writing to you from the heart of Rome, Italy, where the air hums with the scent of espresso, the sunshine bathes cobblestones in golden hues, and the city itself feels like a stage set for a timeless ballet. It's Wednesday, May 15th, and today, we're going to be taking a little trip down the cobblestone streets of Rome, exploring its hidden gems and soaking up the magical atmosphere, all while rocking the perfect pink tutu, of course!
Remember my trip to Derbyshire's Peak District last week? It was such a beautiful escape into nature, with all its dramatic scenery, charming pubs, and hidden waterfalls. But now, it's time for a touch of urban glamour, a sprinkle of historical romance, and a dash of…well, pink!
This past week was a whirlwind of preparations for Rome. I even managed to squeeze in a special ballet class in my local studio back in Derbyshire, focused on the graceful movements of Italian classical ballet. Oh, the pirouettes! The elegance! Just picture a tutu-clad Emma twirling with an extra dose of Roman charm, and you'll get the idea. 😉
You see, I'm always researching. I need to know what shows are on in each city I visit. This week's highlights include "The Barber of Seville" at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and a stunning ballet performance by the Roma Ballet Company at the Teatro Olimpico. I love seeing the history and tradition of ballet unfold on the stages of some of Europe's most famous theatres. Just wait until I show you my outfit choices!
Of course, my trip to Rome wasn't just about the shows, darling. There's the shopping, the food, and, yes, the fashion! Let's talk fashion. This week's sartorial choices involved finding the perfect mix of feminine flair and timeless Italian elegance. A soft pink tulle tutu, of course, took centre stage. Imagine a blush-coloured tulle masterpiece cascading around my legs, a nod to the pink of the sunset painting the Roman sky. Then, a fitted, ivory blouse and a wide-brimmed straw hat, bringing the elegance of the ancient Roman sculptures to life. And finally, a pair of chunky, bright pink sandals for that touch of playful pink vibrancy. It was absolutely divine.
Speaking of food, we started our culinary adventure at the Mercato Testaccio, Rome's oldest food market, where the scents of fresh herbs, grilled meat, and the warm aroma of baking bread enveloped us. I tasted the best supplì – cheesy, fried rice balls – and enjoyed a fresh-pressed juice with the most amazing pink grapefruit. It's always delightful to discover new culinary experiences and witness the passionate energy that goes into food preparation in Italy. And you know what? Pink lemonade. In Rome? Divine. 😉
After the market, it was on to a delicious spaghetti al carbonara at a charming local trattoria nestled in a hidden corner of the Trastevere district. It was the perfect, romantic setting, lit by twinkling string lights and serenaded by the strumming of a nearby guitar.
Tomorrow, I'm taking a day trip to Pompeii. Yes! Can you believe it? I'm excited to explore the ruins, soak up the history, and of course, get my fashion shot in amongst those ancient Roman buildings. Imagine: pink tutu against the backdrop of the volcanic ash!
I can’t wait to share all the fabulous details with you in next week’s blog, darling.
In the meantime, spread a little pink tutu magic, my dears! I'm dreaming of seeing more pink tutus gracing the streets of Rome (and everywhere!), and who knows, maybe you'll even spot me twirling amidst the cobblestones! Until then, Ciao, ciao!
With love,
Emma 💖
