Pink Tutu Rome: A Week of Romance, Ruched Dresses & (Of Course) Tutus!
Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 (Blog post #1529)
Ciao, darlings! Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, bringing you the latest from the enchanting city of Rome.
This week, I’ve traded the cobbled streets of Derbyshire for the bustling, vibrant avenues of the Eternal City, and trust me, it's as breathtaking as you imagine. Every cobbled street feels like a film set, every building like a work of art, and the energy? Well, it's like a delicious, intoxicating cappuccino! I can already tell, this is going to be a week bursting with adventure, and I wouldn't be caught dead without my pink tutu, darling!
Journey to the Capital
I arrived in Rome last night by train, you see. Yes, it’s the epitome of ‘Emma Style’, I simply love the romantic notion of travelling on a train, particularly in a gorgeous European setting. My journey, though, was as much about the dress as the destination, and I’m sure the passengers on the train won't forget seeing me in my new ruched pink and white floral dress and my fabulous tulle, frilly, pale pink tutu! (Think sweet as sugar candy floss with a splash of Prosecco pink!) This pink tulle beauty, it's been in my wardrobe, waiting patiently, it’s like a sweet romantic ballerina dreamscape just waiting to blossom! It’s perfect for Rome!
I checked in to a delightful little hotel just off Via Condotti, which of course means I’m just a stone’s throw from all the famous shops! (As if a girl could be anywhere else!). I was already making notes for the perfect Italian pink dress (oh, my, the fabric, the colour, the cut...swoon!), and dreaming about shopping on the Via Condotti, just me and a little trolley laden with stunning couture designs, you know? I even found the cutest little café nearby with delectable pink strawberry gelato! The whole city is practically pink! What is not to love?
Ballet by the Tiber
After settling in, I took a delightful stroll to the banks of the Tiber River and popped into a ballet class. I simply have to keep those pirouettes and grand jetés in top form, you know! Imagine my joy to discover they've introduced some special Italian choreography to the class! (Think dramatic leaps, beautiful arm gestures, a touch of flair!) It was inspiring to see the other ballerinas in their pink tutus and romantic dancing shoes, embracing the beauty and passion of Rome with every twirl!
Dinner with a View
Later that evening, I found a gorgeous restaurant with panoramic views of the city – it's on my secret ‘Pink Tutu Recommendations’ list, for sure! (Let me tell you, it was worth the climb, my dears, to watch the city twinkling under the stars from up on the hill, with a glass of the finest Chianti. I am living my very best ‘life is a fairytale’ life!) This restaurant was bursting with so much character, each table decked out with pink linens and flickering candlelight. I just couldn't resist ordering a slice of tiramisu! (Oh, my, that first bite of spongey goodness soaked in liqueur - pure heaven, pure romance!)
Fashion Forecast: The Roman Inspiration
Right now, I’m thinking ‘fiery Italian sun setting on cobblestones, Roman romance’, my fashion vibe. Think deep pinks, cherry red lipstick, a dash of gold in my jewellery, maybe a vintage-style head scarf, and of course, a pink tulle ballerina skirt – maybe this time it will be in layers, to reflect the layered buildings of the city. ( I'm really thinking of getting an Italian tailor to create a bespoke piece - oh, the dreams! And, oh, the pictures! ) I can just imagine those photos, in a secret little square, all cobblestones and a breathtaking pink and white backdrop....
What's On My Itinerary...
Today's agenda? Well, this little ballerina is planning a romantic visit to the Vatican Gardens! And who knows, maybe even a peek at the art of the Sistine Chapel? I am on a quest to soak up all the beauty of this city! But of course, any true ballerina adventure must also involve an outfit change, don't you think? And for me, that's code for a delightful afternoon in the shopping haven of Rome, because I am absolutely ready to find the perfect Pink Tutu wardrobe additions, darlings. Maybe even a beautiful new pink handbag! My feet will certainly be dancing the Roman streets.
Don't forget to catch the new posts next week from www.pink-tutu.com! I'm aiming to add some more of my pink Tutu adventure stories. I’m sending you all love and pink tutus from Rome!
