Buongiorno, darlings!
It's Emma here, back from the glorious city of Rome! Yes, this Pink Tutu princess finally made it to the Eternal City, and let me tell you, it's been a whirlwind of ancient wonders, fabulous fashion finds, and enough delicious gelato to make even the most discerning palate swoon.
As you know, I’m always up for a good adventure, and my Roman escapades certainly delivered! I’ve been whisking around on the iconic Roman metro (it’s so much more civilised than the London tube, I tell you) in my blush-pink ballet flats, which perfectly matched my trusty travel tutu. And yes, I received several appreciative smiles from fellow commuters – everyone knows a pink tutu is the key to making any journey a bit more magical.
My journey began with a thrilling train ride from Derbyshire. I love travelling by train – the gentle rocking, the picturesque views, the charming clattering, it’s so peaceful. It allows me to gather my thoughts, admire the world whipping by, and let my creativity flow. I even managed to whip out my ballet bag and have a good old-fashioned ballet session in my first-class carriage. (Thank heavens it was almost empty. )
The moment I arrived in Rome, I knew this trip was going to be special. The air buzzed with excitement and romance – you can practically feel the energy of history thrumming beneath your feet! Of course, I wasted no time in diving headfirst into the vibrant Italian culture, indulging in some truly breathtaking experiences!
A Colosseum of Colourful Couture
First up on the agenda was the Colosseum, an incredible monument of ancient architecture. While most visitors were busy marvelling at the structure, I was mesmerised by the fashion parade taking place around it. The Romans have a style all of their own – flowing fabrics, vibrant colours, and a sprinkle of cheeky embellishments. I even saw a charming young gentleman with a fluffy pink feather boa (pink, I tell you!), which was simply divine. And guess what? The local market right outside the Colosseum had a stand selling pink tutus - can you believe it? Now, who'd have thought a pink tutu was a hot commodity in ancient Rome? It seems even the Romans have a penchant for a bit of pink and twirling.
Gliding Through The Trevi Fountain
Later, I paid a visit to the iconic Trevi Fountain, a truly breathtaking spectacle! Its elaborate carvings and shimmering waters seemed to dance in front of my eyes, and I couldn’t resist taking a few graceful twirls while posing for a photograph. Naturally, I tossed a coin in the fountain - the obligatory gesture to ensure my safe return to Derbyshire. And speaking of Derbyshire, my lovely readers, did I mention I discovered the most amazing shop on a charming, cobblestone street, near the Pantheon? It’s a haven for everything pink! They had the most exquisite tutus - you wouldn’t believe the variety! I couldn't resist adding a new shimmering pink tutu to my collection - its soft, silky fabric will make a grand entrance for my upcoming performances at the Derbyshire Dance Festival.
Under The Tuscan Sun... And A Pink Tutu!
This trip to Rome wouldn’t have been complete without a leisurely trip to the Vatican City. Oh my word, the art, the grandeur, the sheer breathtaking beauty – you just have to experience it for yourself. The Pope's Guards may have given me a few strange glances for wearing a pink tutu, but it's hard not to embrace a bit of lightheartedness in such a historical setting. After all, even the most ancient of places deserves a sprinkle of pink magic! I spent the rest of the day savouring some exquisite, perfectly balanced cappuccino.
Speaking of perfection, my lovely reader, if you happen to be in Rome, you must absolutely pay a visit to The Opera House! A feast for the eyes and ears, the experience is one you won’t soon forget. Every inch of this elegant space oozes old-world charm, with intricate chandeliers sparkling overhead. You can literally smell the history as you take your seat, but it’s all blended together beautifully with the buzz of excitement for the show. And, oh darling, let me tell you – it’s absolutely magnificent! The choreography was sublime, the costumes extravagant, the music enchanting – all in all a most impressive evening.

Ciao!
Emma
P.S. My readers, let's talk about this: should we all aim to wear pink tutus everywhere we go? I think it'd make the world a whole lot brighter! It's not just a fashion statement, you know. It's a declaration of inner joy, an expression of individual style. Who’s with me? Let’s take this pink tutu revolution all over the globe! What’s the one thing we need to do next? How do we get people to jump on the Pink Tutu train? Let me know in the comments!
